Back when I started writing fan fiction seriously (I had attempted it a few times, but never too seriously until I was fourteen), I remember wanting to come up with a parental figure for Rachel and Harvey, since I go with the idea/headcannon that their parents aren’t around much. So I came up with the character of Helga; a stern, no nonsense woman who loved them unconditionally and did everything in her powers to help them, all while taking no for an answer and putting up with no one’s BS.

I can remember that that was my first instance of writing a character like that (that I could remember, anyway), and that Constance was a bit of an inspiration for how I wrote Helga.

But now that I think about it, the no nonsense woman with a good head on her shoulders in a character type I actually like quite a bit. I think Constance might have had something to do with it.
