I have an ear infection and it’s been an absolutely horrific week so I haven’t had the chance to work on my fic but I wanna yap (MAJOR SPOILERS FOR CARNATIONS PINK AND WHITE BELOW, IF YOU DONT WANNA SEE EM KEEP SCROLLING)
So the fic actually takes place after the events of Who Killed Markiplier, meaning that Damien isn’t actually Damien, he’s Darkiplier.
“But Juno”, you may be asking, “how is Damien talking to Lars and being all cutie patootie with him if it’s actually Darkiplier?”
Well, I wanna remind you of two tidbits that Darkiplier has canonically done:
shapeshifted (made himself look like mark in ADWM)
created a weird little pocket dimension (also ADWM
After Damien left town, Lars went right back to being isolated, and he ended up getting sick. It’s similar to how when an older person lose a loved one, they go downhill really fast for no real reason. Gus and Karin start panicking and end up tracking down Damien, who at this point isn’t really Damien anymore.
When Dark hears about what’s happening with Lars, he has no idea what to do; one one hand, Lars might get better after getting to see and be with Damien, but on the other, he’s always been sensitive, and seeing Dark instead of Damien might make him worse.
So Dark comes up with a plan: With Karin and Gus’s permission and while using the box from AHWM, Dark is able to go to time to before he met Lars and uses his powers to trap Lars and the rest of the town in a sort of pocket dimension where Damien never leaves, with Dark either pretending to be Damien or actually being Damien.
This has been going on for years, but things keep going on, and Dark keeps having to reset the world to the day he and Lars met. The fic takes place in one of these cycles.
the fic will have a happy ending, but basically Lars will think he’s slowly going crazy because he starts seeing cracks in Dark’s pocket dimension and trying to figure out what’s going on :}
Also the other townspeople aren’t really effected by the resets it’s just Lars Gus and Karin, Gus and Karin weren’t originally effected, but after the first few resets, they asked Dark to include them because it hurt them to lie that much to Lars.
