      In her previous life, Caitlin Snow had been a bio-engineer at S.T.A.R. Labs.  She had her husband, her friends and a good reputation in Central city; but all that changed when the Particle Accelerator malfunctioned.  Ronnie Raymond died, her reputation was lost and she’d mutated into a horrible metahuman known as Killer Frost.  She didn’t want her powers and she definitely didn’t want to be a killer or to burden her mother with the responsibility of finding a cure for her condition --- so she had herself frozen at a lab and waited until a year that would most likely possess the technology she needed to finally rid herself of her metahuman DNA.  

“What did I do to deserve this?”  Caitlin wasn’t exactly complaining about the hug; but she knew that her behavior had been less than stellar since they’d found out they weren’t each other’s significant other --- and therefore couldn’t figure out why he’d offer her such a long hug.  

     “It was really sweet that you tried.” Because after the day she’d had she was far too tired to do much more than scrape the completely untouched casserole dish into the trash can.  “Pizza sounds fine, I’m still a little queasy after being unofficially kidnapped by some speedster named The Flash --- and did I happen to mention that I met Cisco Ramon?”  He had been a bit of a jerk at first, but by the end of the night he was asking how he could contact her.

“So...” How was she supposed to start this conversation, exactly? It wasn’t exactly a normal situation, even by her current standards. Caitlin’s dead fiancee wasn’t dead. And here he was, now un-fused from the professor who took control of his body for over a year. It wasn’t like she was going to be asking all about that. Like, how awkward would that be?? She could ask the generic “get to know somebody” questions, but those usually ended up feeling weird too.
