QOTD: Which most anticipated read this year lived up to all your expectations?! Was there one that didn’t? . . The Beautiful by Renee Ahdieh was one of the books that I was most excited about. Renee’s writing style is beautiful and atmospheric— I’ve loved all of her other stories and I was so excited to learn she was writing about vampires in New Orleans. Anne Rice has long been a favorite of mine, and I was expecting something similar with The Beautiful. I started it last night, and regardless of what I expected, I LOVE IT! It’s so well written, descriptive, and the characters— I fell in love with them immediately. It’s not what I was expecting, yet so much more! I highly recommend adding it to your fall tbr. I’ve got a little over 100 pages left and I can’t wait to find out what happens! . .
