People say that this musical is “extravagant” and they are right. I'm not sure if you can truly prepare yourself for it. It's about an engaged couple whose car breaks down in the rain near a castle, where they search for help. And the castle is full of freaks with Dr. Frank-N-Furter as a leader.

At first I thought that there's too much freakness and wanted to shut it down but by the middle of the musical you get used to it and nothing can surprise you.

Funny thing, that was my first acquaintance with Tim Curry therefore now I can't perceive him normally.

The film is based on the novel of the same name by Robert Harris, and the novel is based on a true story that took place in France in the 1890s.

It's about the Dreyfus affair - a political scandal where a French artillery officer of Jewish descent, was wrongfully convicted of treason. In response to the events of the affair Émile Zola published an open letter where he accused the government of antisemitism. The main storyline tells about an officer Georges Picquart, who tried to “find the truth”.

I really liked this film from two points of view. The first one is language. French isn't my first language, so it was very important for me to find something in French that is comprehensible for a foreigner. The second one is the cast. It seems to me that the actors are very similar to their prototypes and that's a huge advantage.

Nowadays there's an expression in English: “Hobson's Choice”, meaning “no choice”, which comes from Brighouse's same named play. It's about a family of shoe makers in the Manchester's area in the beginning of the 20th century. The main character - Maggie Hobson - is the oldest (30 years old) daughter of a drunk. She rules the whole business and she's unmarried. The whole story is about her ambitions and their realization.

“Hobson's choice” is a very sweet light romcom but it still manages to raise some important issues like class system, family relations and women's place in society.

It’s a detective novel about Sumenon's most famous character, detective Maigret. The story is not extraordinary and more or less predictable but it's still interesting and the concept itself is unusual. Plus, despite knowing who the real murderer is the moment you meet the character, it is still difficult to get all the details correctly. When I finished this novel I actually needed about an hour to put all the actions in the correct order to understand what had happened.
