Musical “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” by Richard O'Brien and Jim Sharman, 1975 year
People say that this musical is “extravagant” and they are right. I'm not sure if you can truly prepare yourself for it. It's about an engaged couple whose car breaks down in the rain near a castle, where they search for help. And the castle is full of freaks with Dr. Frank-N-Furter as a leader.
At first I thought that there's too much freakness and wanted to shut it down but by the middle of the musical you get used to it and nothing can surprise you.
Funny thing, that was my first acquaintance with Tim Curry therefore now I can't perceive him normally.
What I sincerely love about this musical - the idea. It says “Don't dream about being someone - instead be this someone but be ready for the consequences from society”. The most important thing here is "be ready for the consequences from society”. Because usually people prefer to not admit that if you are really different from the others there's practically no way the “normal ones” will accept you.
