The words cut him to the quick, but he tried his best not to falter as the words hit him hard.  He knew this conversation wouldn’t end well, he wanted to apologize, but his pride kept getting in the way.  Instead, he tried to remain as level headed as he could manage.

“And then it means we can’t do this! And you know how that effectss- hng?” Kurt made a confused, strangled sound as lips pressed briefly against his before pulling away.

He blinked. Blinked again. But Sebastian’s face was still there. The bashfully pleased with himself smirk was rapidly slipping away to leave a more guarded, aloof one, and Kurt was not going to let that happen.

Reaching out, Kurt grabbed Sebastian’s hand and yanked him in. “Okay, first off- No, shut up, it’s my turn to speak right now. You forfeited your turn when you violated my space without my permission,” Kurt glared sternly, wagging a finger at Sebastian to emphasize his point.

“First off, that was not okay. You want something, you need to use your words. We can’t expect Liam and Alice to learn from our example if we don’t give them an example to learn from.” Kurt raised an expectant brow.

Sebastian simply pouted back at him. He was worse than Liam.

“Secondly, don’t think that this means our conversation is over. There are still so many logistics to work out. And ignoring them won’t make them go away.”

He got an eyeroll in return to that order.

“And third. If you don’t kiss me again, right now, I refuse to speak to you for the rest of the week.” Kurt smiled as Sebastian quit sulking and did something useful with his mouth.

“And another thing- Mmph!”

Jake stopped, eyes wide, staring at Ryder’s face, too close, too blurry. Their lips pressed together. Jake’s tongue caught awkwardly against his teeth. Ryder’s lips smashed gracelessly to his face. Both their cheeks scrunched up together.

Too close.

Jake’s hands on Ryder’s shoulders, Ryder’s own hands on Jake’s shoulders. Jake pushed Ryder away, eyes still wide, almost hurting from how dry and strained they were “What-? Why-?”

“Oh, for fuck’s sake, Jake. Don’t you get it?! I wa- Hnn?”

This time it was Jake lunging in, too close, too hard, too fast. But perfectly clear. In a way nothing had ever needed to be. Jake wrapped his arms around Ryder’s back, pulling him flush, chest against chest.

When they broke minutes later, both of them sprawled across the bed, Ryder blinked up at him, and Jake  swallowed the urge to kiss him again.

“I still don’t know, but I don’t think I really care anymore. I just- want. And I hate wanting. I’d much rather have. So, if it’s all the sa- Mmhmmm.” Jake smiled, pulling Ryder close again. This would work. They’d figure out the details later. Or not at all. They didn’t really matter anyways.
