"Ziel." Surtr starts, orbs glancing towards outside, then at him. "What are these 'police drones' doing? I find it odd that they..." How does one Sarkaz put it? 'Hovering'? No. She got it. "They seem to be active at all times, aren't they? It's day, night, or in between I'll never seen them rest." Possibly because they are powered by something.
“Hm?” He looks up from slipping what was left of his things into his backpack. They’d returned to his apartment, for him to see what little he could take that hadn’t already been confiscated by the Dictator’s forces after he’d... hit their watch list. Not much anymore after he’d gone through the first time and then again after the placed had been searched; a few papers of half-written song lyrics, some books with pages ripped out, cups and dishes, canned food...
Surtr had been peering outside through the bedroom curtains, and he glances past her with a frown. “They’re... patrolling. You should probably close the curtains.” Ziel does his best not to move too quickly, and reaches a hand to the blinds, twisting them closed slowly.
“...No, they’re always active. There’s ways to disrupt them, but most of the machines use multiple energy sources. The older models have a rechargeable battery pack that used to have to trade shifts and go back to the towers to recharge.”Â
“Newer models use wireless electricity. They’re running constantly until they either get broken, or need to be updated, and they never run out of fuel. Not all of the machines use the same systems either. Service Drones need to be recharged the regular way, but that’s because they’re for civilian use only, and these guys are just the Hover Drones.”
The blond slings his bag over his shoulder, done packing up. “The Police Drones are all run through a network to recharge and communicate similar to the Hovers, but they are more fine-tuned. Break one of those and you’ll be swarmed in minutes.”Â
“I’ve heard about the Network, but I’ve also never been able to hack in before, so I couldn’t tell you how it works, but I know someone who can. Vox used to be directly hooked up to it, so I’d ask him about the details.”
...He’d been meaning to anyways, but hadn’t wanted to remind his boyfriend of the time he’d been stuck there.
