Uncharismatic Fact of the Day
Between sharks and rays, wedgefish get the best of both worlds! The eleven known species of wedgefish are characterised by their wide, flat bodies which resemble stingrays, and their fins and tails which resemble those of sharks. The combination of the two makes them powerful swimmers, although they spend most of their time cruising the ocean floor hoovering up crustaceans, mollusks, and bottom-dwelling fish.
