1.28.19 Koi Oil Paintings

Its been a while since I updated this but its been a crazzzyyy months. This last three weeks I have been nonstop preparing for this show and reproducing more work one on top of the other. Its been a struggle but the best start to 2019 that I can ask for.

I had my show in Costa Mesa 1.23.19 and I made almost $400 dollars! How wild is that?! So many people and for once strangers were excited about my work. This was a success in my book but I did learn more than a few things on how to prepare for a show and present a show. I know from now on I want to act on my art with intention and meaning. No more bullshit Alyssa. This means everything.

Art stuff is happening!

On thursday next (Feb 2nd) it’s the RAW showcase in Canberra and I am super pumped!

I wasn’t able to apply for this year, but I will be there at the Belconnen Arts Center as an assistant to Maddie (who I had a stall with at the Sly Fox markets last year). She’s a multi-disciplinary artist and performer and an excellent friend. Come and say hello, buy some art, and meet some rad musicians/painters/makeup artists/filmmakers :D

If you don’t live in the area but you have arty followers, please reblog and share the news! RAW takes place in all Australian major cities as well as in various locations in America, Canada and the UK. It’s a super cool indie art event which supports local artists and helps them to network, make money and get recognition, so even if you weren’t in time to submit your own work to the showcase, please consider attending as a guest or audience member! Okay, so I just got my art submission accepted into the RawArtists organization.

I will be showcased here in orange county at the Shark Club in Costa Mesa on February 17th.

There will be several other artists joining me,

It will include a fashion show, live music, make-up art, digital art, and well, art.

I am, so happy.

I cannot believe I got in.
