notte di || myungsoo & woori
A week had passed. Achingly, nerve-wrackingly slow. She was fidgeting, itching. Restless and anxious. She had been so since the night before. But could one blame her, she had completely glazed over this arrangement to a point where she thought it was nonexistent. That was until he had come back again. This time the same as last unannounced and yet, less surprising. Though with his appearance came the dread of reality.
They were still engaged.
Arranged in a nuptial that she had never agreed to. But a word from someone close to her grandmother had said that the agreement was already drawn and sacred- through blood. That was the only way to do things. Even she couldn't destroy it unless she could find some type of loophole around it. That was what had kept her up last night. Mind was over-working, going through centuries of spells and deals where they had the same idea but no- an Unforgivable was hard to break.
There was a knock at the door but she pointedly ignored it, vying to fix her appearance in her vanity rather than to waste time waltzing over and granting whoever was at the door their time with her. Or whatever time she deemed she, herself, could have alone without being suffocated by patronizing eyes and fixated spells ready to be cast.
Raising the make-up brush, she felt the soft bristles of the textured fibers smooth against her skin, highlighting the apples of her cheeks with a soft rose hue just as a creak could be heard. The door was opening, Woori paid mind to not look into her mirror, eyes quickly down-casting to not allow herself to see who had the audacy to intrude. That was when she heard her name in a voice so familiar, her blood froze over once, her hand paused in mid-air. A solid gulp trying to fall past a suffocating esophagus.
What was he doing here.
