I did, dude. You can tag something to have a discussion. You can tag something to point out that there’s something wrong with it. Not everything in the tag has to be about how much it’s perfect and everyone loves it. It’s not like I made that post and tagged it like “This ship SUX and I hate everyone who’s into it! HAHAHA they’re gonna be so mad now!”. I want people to think about how fucked up it is to fawn over what is essentially an abusive relationship that’s not so much consensual as it is “I need to stick with this dude who kidnapped me if I want to survive and also I’m kind of confused and think he’s my friend because he does nice things for me like Not Straight-Up Murdering Me and Using My Language Skills To Gain Power”. 

Like… okay. Handsome men. Seeing a powerful murderous viking act like a schoolboy with a crush is funny and cute. But that dynamic is REEEEALLY fucked up and Athelstan deserves better and Ragnar is a manipulative, power-hungry piece of shit who’s cruel to everyone who loves him and he needs to go die in a pile of snakes already. 

Like if it Athelstan had been a girl I really think--and I really HOPE--that I wouldn’t see posts like “Aww, look at the way he grabs her!” or “It’s SO SEXY how he just gropes her all the time when she’s shown no signs of interest in him!” or “Haha, he enslaved her instead of just murdering her on the spot because he thought she was CUTE!”. I think people would see it as fucked up. But since it’s a guy hitting on a guy everyone’s psyched about it. 

And it seems to be mostly straight/bi women doing it if I’m not mistaken so I dunno WTF is going on there. It seems like fetishizing gay/bi men which is... rude to say the least?
