23. what type of jewelry is typically sold/worn, if any? who would be the one to purchase it?
Depends on where you go. In Reia, they love fine jewels, crafted to perfection, lovely melded metals in fine spirals and chains. They love finery and more... delicate jewelry. Probably more akin to modern appearing classic styles. In Morne, they love big gaudy golds and metallics. Medieval jewelry would be most appropriate to compare their styles to. Lyre does not have much jewelry like that. They would have keepsakes that were old heirlooms, it is not a poor country but they humble themselves outwardly. If they were to even wear a jewel it would be on a ring and it would be small. And in Rhythe, they create jewelry from nature, natural stones and seashells, wittled bark, tied around the neck with leather straps. Or bracelets made from stones like turquoise for example. They're also known to keep bones of animals and wear them as a way to draw on the animals spirit.
And those are only in the main countries i'm righting at the moment!
33. do you experiment with government in your story? if so, how?
Government and politics are very fun to play with! Especially dealing with how they interact. You have an empire in Reia with an empress on top, and people who want a reason to remove her of her title, a feuding society with very... lose government in Morne (people die a lot there, it's terrifying), democratic tribes in Rythe (they're constantly under siege from Morne and Reia though), and a very theology based government in Lyre (and oh boy do they have some fucked up ways of dealing with people who fall out of what is correct). They're all wild for different reasons. Murder is a crime in some places but... legal in others, or legal under certain circumstances (kill your neigbor and Reia will hold a trial but they make sport of killing slaves). There is no legal system in Morne except for the end of a blade. Anyway, I could go on.
43. which character(s) would wear those gorgeous, glittery runway dresses that we all reblog and cry over?
OH BOY FAM LEMME TELL YOU. REIA. REIA HAS SUCH PRETTY DRESSES. LET. ME. SHOW. YOU. (Lyre has some pretty ones too)
Reia has very pretty silks and sheers, they live in a "Mediterranean" climate so fine, airy fabrics are there.
Lyre loves solid colors and high collars. They live in a bit of a colder area, but still fairly temperate so thicker but not suffocating. Like so
Morne has fine dresses too, but they live in bat shit crazy cold places. So they have to bundle and wear much thicker fabrics. But they love embroidery.
The embroidery is the important thing with those, the styles are kind of off but close enough for now.
And like i said earlier, this isn't even considering the variations (especially in Reia) or the unexplored southern continent. (Other very pretty dresses and clothing!!!!)
