sometimes i think about the look on rashidmand’s face after daniel says “save it for the rent boy.” the subtle clench of his jaw. the shortness of his voice when he asks to be excused. and how easy it is for the viewer to believe he’s just offended by the insinuation. but if you go back and watch it with the context of devil’s minion then you realize he’s reacting to what comes directly before “save it for the rent boy.” daniel is casually discussing his impending death, his mortality. he is refusing the gift presented to him by louis. he has given up any hope of survival, told himself vampirism is a fate worse than death. armand probably barely even heard “save it for the rent boy,” because wouldn’t you ignore that, if your beloved (who btw has no idea who the fuck you are) just reminded you he’s about to die? could you bear it?

Sorry i still think it's infinitely funnier if Rashid was actually still in the Penthouse during the Rashidmand role play. He's sequestered in his bedroom watching sitcom reruns, tossing popcorn in the air and catching it in his mouth. Armand brings him trays of food still in RashidCharacter and asks him if he'd like any new reading materials.
