Some grocery shopping observations
I love visiting Chinese, Korean, and Japanese supermarkets. Not only do you get a wide variety of goods, but you can get some really good deals. Korean supermarkets are my go-to when it comes to finding hot pot or shabu shabu meat. They also tend to have the widest variety of bone for soup broths (like ox tail, etc). Fish quality tends to be great at Japanese supermarkets. Chinese supermarkets offer meat and seafood as well but the quality doesn't seem as fresh (totally subjective). However they are pretty awesome when it comes to ripe fruits (but you need to eat it within a day or two). One thing I have observed is to be wary of buying vegetables from Chinese supermarkets. It could just be my luck, but every single Ranch 99 experience resulted in lettuce that have been feasted on by bugs.
