I think as much as Tim knows when to use othersâ strengths, he also knows when not to call for help. He considers Jean-Paul a problem he has to handle himself because he wouldnât be respected otherwise.
And I doubt Dick or anyone else could have anticipated how fast Tim would have to grow up over the next few years with so much waiting for him in the future. But Dick of all people knows what itâs like to lose a childhood to the superhero business.

Look at Tim being all smug that Bracuda put a hit on him. Heâs taking a lot of risk with this play and Jim is trying his best to keep up while keeping Timâs safety in mind. But Tim knows how big this is and rings Bruce for advice, which he doesnât really give.

Dick is pretty straightforward with Tim when Tim asks him to be so thatâs a pretty good foundation of communication that they have compared to Tim with other people in general. But itâs also clear he doesnât want to be a constant source of validation for Tim. At least Tim can read Dick well enough, or at least recognise self-blame when he sees it.

Tim and Dick put up a good fight until someone pulls out a grenade on them. At least Dick finally meets Bracuda and finds out just what Tim has been dealing with.

How Dick is flying using those tiny flaps is beyond me.
It seems Tim is still trying to get Dickâs approval, and it makes sense since they havenât really had the time to get to know each other yet and their meeting with Dick chastising him has set Tim up to be on the defensive.
And Bracuda is really getting under Timâs skin. After defeating bigger fish like King Snake and Joker, having Bracuda best him over and over must be frustrating.
