Raintime (1989)

What most people don't know is that this lesser known 2007 melodic death metal epic was actually inspired by legendary 1973 Martin Scorsese film "Goncharov", and was written about Katya. It all starts to make more sense when you really sit down and read the lyrics. And the way the ending gradually quiets down back into traditional Russian folk and a music box... truly, a worthy tribute to a classic.
