8. “I’d do anything for you.”

Glimmer’s head feels as if someone is trying to split it open, like cracking a walnut open with a nutcracker. Pain rests right behind her eyes, which she squeezes shut. The light from the outside world creates even more suffering. Hell, flipping over on her bed the soft creek does little to comfort her. Never before in her life has she felt this before. The queen absolutely loathes it.

Adora calls it a ‘migraine’. The word even sounds unpleasant. Her girlfriend has stated she has had her fair share of head pounding pain and now has disappeared to gather things. Before leaving, however, the blonde said to remain in bed and try blocking out as much light as possible. This adds to the discomfort. Lying in bed, in pain, and unable to do anything, what a horrible fuckin’ day.

The creaking of the door sends shock waves through her body. Glimmer whines, throwing the blanket over her head. She hears the uniformed footfall of Adora. It’s followed by a new weight on her bed.

“Still feeling like crap, hon?” Adora whispers. Glimmer can only muster a groan.

There is a shuffling before Adora gives her girlfriend a small shake. Glimmer slowly pulls the covers from her face. Soft, sky blue eyes stare back at her.

“Here. I found some pain killers and made some tea.”

Glimmer shifts up. In one of Adora’s hands are a couple of pills. The other has a steaming up. Grumbling, the queen takes the medicine and takes several sips of the hot liquid. “I hate this. I don’t like making you take care of me like I am a child.”

Adora gives her a small nudge with her shoulder. “Hey, I love you. I’d do anything for you. And you should sleep.” The blonde gently pushes the queen back down on the bed before placing a kiss on her forehead. “I’ll be here if you need anything, okay?”
