Even after getting in touch with his feelings more, Luke still gets pretty embarrassed when he feels like crying and will hide away from almost everyone when he’s upset. Guy is the one person he doesn’t try to hide those shameful emotions from and will cry openly in front of him. Likewise, Guy is his most sincere when only Luke is around.
There’s no doubt that Luke is the stronger of the two in battle. However, he’s more likely to brute force something than to think about his plan of attack. Sparring with Guy, who isn’t quite as strong but a far superior tactician, has taught him a great deal more in thinking things through than he would have learned on his own.
‘Guy explain’ existed long before Jade made it famous. Since day one, whenever there’s something that Luke doesn’t understand or needs help with, his first instinct is to ask Guy about it. In turn, Guy has all the patience in the world when dealing with Luke and never does anything that might seem belittling or insulting. Luke’s faith in him is of the utmost importance to him.
They’re quite competitive with each other in almost every way imaginable. Often on the road they’d play little games with each other to pass the time or devise competitions that probably seemed asinine and stupid to the rest of the party, like tree-climbing or rock-throwing.
They both suffer from nightmares on occasion and while on the road they’d insist on sharing a room together as much as possible so they could be there for each other during those long nights.
Guy has an easier time than most getting Luke to do things he stubbornly objects to doing. In turn, even after dismissal from his service to the Fabre family, all Luke has to do is say the word and Guy is off doing whatever thing he’s asked to do, no matter how trivial.
Since Luke was never allowed out of the manor and Guy never had the money, the exchange of gifts during birthdays never really happened. In lieu of material goods, they developed a couple traditions instead. Some have come and gone over the years, but Guy will always cook a huge dinner for Luke on his birthday-- and a consequent eating contest between the two will always take place.
Whenever something exciting or important happens to either one, the first person they think to tell about it is the other one. Because of the distance of their current situations, they’ll sometimes go quite a while holding in a big secret just to be sure the other person is the first to know.
They’ve both made up the excuse of a ‘business trip’ to the opposing nation just for the chance to see each other a little more often.
They both have their unconscious signs of affection they show for each other, and by this time it’s become so habitual for the both of them that they don’t even notice it happening anymore. Guy will generally mess with Luke’s hair and Luke will either lean against Guy or grab his hand or arm.
