While frequenting parking lots around town, I came across a very peculiar looking bird. It was pretty big and a little intimidating. Ok, a lotta bit intimidating. Sooooooooo being the oddball that I am, I was curious about the type of bird it was BUT I had to take a pic so I could show my son proof that I’d found the Biggest Bird™️ (if you know, you know cuz I don’t know whatchu herrrrd🦆) in the wild.

Fast forward to today and I’m in that same parking lot but near a small pond and there’s ton of these big screeching birds!! So to the Google I went. They are Muscovy ducks! Annnnnnd the male Muscovy duck is the largest duck in the world, they can weigh up to 15 pounds which is slightly terrifying.

The more you know, hmm.

I don’t usually like pictures of myself but this one hits differently for me. I’ve never considered myself to be beautiful, pretty, attractive, etc. but when I see myself here, bare faced, exhausted, stressed, depressed, and lonely, I see the beauty in imperfect.

I see a woman who has made mistakes. I see someone who has tried to be better. I see the shadowed under eyes from restless nights, filled with tears and racing thoughts. I see the potential that I can’t always feel. I see vulnerability and the fear of being forgotten. Most importantly, I see the flame flickering and sputtering, trying desperately to stay alight in a chaotic windstorm.

         “Yeah, it has gotten a lot colder lately! And I thought it was just going to be a bit of a brisk breeze today. I should really invest in a heavy coat...” Ochako shivered, attempting to push on and deal with this weather outside. Even through her own gloves were still feeling the sharpness of the chill. However, she then felt something heavier brought around her shoulders as Shinsou added on to offer his own coat to her. “Oh! N-no, you don’t have to! Really, I can...” She was immediately interrupted by a sneeze followed with another deep shiver afterwards. A few seconds of silence passed before she chuckled awkwardly. “Eheheh...yeah, I suppose I do need another one. Thanks for that Shinsou, I really owe you one! I’m already feeling a lot warmer now. But, won’t you be cold too without it? I don’t want you to catch a cold either!”
