works for any intention. all you need is:

- a sheet of paper with a sigil marking your intention or a colour that corresponds to it

- a tealight (if you don’t have any markers/colouring pencils etc you can carve a sigil into the base of the tealight too)

- a song for your intention

place the tealight on the paper and light it, listen to the song, vibe and focus, and blow the candle out when it’s over. If you don’t have a lot of time, this is really handy bc it requires very little prep work and most songs are like 3-5 minutes or something. 

If someone has hurt you or is misbehaving/acting poorly, try this simple spell to encourage them to see themselves and their actions clearly.

Take a small make up mirror or shard of a mirror and place in a jar or box. (I found a collection of picket mirrors at my local second hand shop, but the dollar store may have options too).

Place into the jar something that symbolizes the person. Examples might be a poppet, a symbol of their astrological sign, an herb or spice that represents that person, an item they’ve owned, touched or given to you, or a piece of their physical person such as a strand of hair.

Add a red item, such a ribbon or thread, to encourage quick action.

Wrap the jar in paper. This traps the representation do the person with only the mirror to look at. They can only see themselves.

Smudging is an act reserved for Native American/Indian/tribal practices alone. Witches who cannot claim heritage to these groups should not smudge. Regardless of whether you are using sage or other herbs, the term smudging should still not be used.

However, there are many options available to witches for cleansing their space quickly, including smoke cleansing, an alternative to smudging. Some ideas include:

Use the smoke from an incense stick to cleanse a space by gently wafting it throughout the area using your hand, focusing on thresholds such as windows and doors. Pine, cinnamon, and musky scents are good for protection, lavender, citrus, and rosemary are good for cleansing.

City/modern witches can even use aresols such a frebreeze to cleanse an area. Associate the scent with your intention. Scents including vanilla or cinnamon are good for protection. Flowery scents are good for cleansing.

• Rub rose or lavender scented lotion or oil over your heart in a clockwise motion to summon sweet dreams before bed.

Your morning cup of coffee or tea offers a great opportunity for quick witch craft. Try mixing in one of the following ingredients, or discovering one of your own:

• cinnamon for protection and power

• sugar to sweeten the day

• honey for good fortune

• chocolate to attract love/sex
