I read an article today (link at the bottom and yes it’s on Yahoo-- don’t judge me) and besides the ENTIRE article making me so sad for students and people, this quote really struck me: ................... “Why are we sexualizing our precious children?” a Katy parent said at a November school board meeting after she suggested that books about LGBTQ relationships are causing children to improperly question their gender identities and sexual orientations. .................. I just....I have read so many, many, manymanymany books in my day and, by this way of thinking, you’d believe that I questioned my gender, my species, my world, and everything in between. So what if it starts a question? Questions are meant to be answered. If reading a book makes an individual question something in their life, then maybe it’s a question that should be asked.
