Queerpactious
A synonym for queerplatonic and alterous; that is, a relationship and/or attraction type that surpasses the binary of platonic versus romantic. Coined to replace the term queerplatonic, due to the inaccurate and potentially harmful implications the "-platonic" part gives (e.g. inherent platonicism of QPRs + inherent queerplatonicism/queerpactionism of deep and intimate friendships), as well as the common associations and original definition of the old term.Â
A queerpactious relationship can be referred to as a QPR or a queerpaction. A queerpactious partner can be referred to as a QPP, a queerpactor, a queerpanion, a zucchini, a zucchi, or a zuki (which is not only short for zucchini, but also looks cuter, is simpler to spell, and resembles the Japanese word "suki," which I believe means "I like/love you!")
Queerpactious attraction is pretty much just alterous attraction, and queerpactious relationships are pretty much just queerplatonic relationships, so both the alterous and queerplatonic flags can be used for this term. However, I have also coined a different flag used for this term specifically, in case anyone wants to specify that they use this term in particular. The yellow stands for platonic and platonic-adjacent QPRs. The pink stands for romantic and romantic-adjacent QPRs. The blue stands for QPRs involving alterous attraction and nature. The peach stands for relationships that are both platonic and romantic in nature, or in between the two, or otherwise connected to both. The medium gray stands for QPRs that involve little to no attraction of any kind. The dark gray stands for QPRs that involve different types of attraction between different partners. The light gray stands for all other kinds of QPRs, and the sheer diversity of the spectrum of queerpactious relationships.
