EdenBase and NU London Launch London's First Quantum Applications Hub, QBase QBase
EdenBase, a London-based frontier-technology investment platform and ecosystem, introduced QBase, a Quantum Applications Hub. QBase was created with Northeastern University London. The City of London cluster accelerates AI and quantum technology commercialization.
QBase aims to be London's first Quantum Applications Hub. The fundamental purpose of this project is to bridge research and practice. QBase supports startups and enterprise teams to capitalize on quantum computing's incredible potential. The hub will connect London's financial and economic ecosystem to quantum enterprises globally.
Essential Base Camp for Quantum Startups QBase is a base camp for quantum startups and scale-ups. Access to EdenBase's investment platform is among its expansion support services. Startups and enterprises using the center will receive capital, computational resources, and expertise. The facility will commercialize AI and quantum applications in critical industries. Human biology, food security, sustainability, and energy are examples. QBase will provide membership, mentoring, real-world pilot opportunities, funding, and experience. It helps scholars, investors, politicians, and executives collaborate. Official Welcome to London's Fast-Growing Cluster Deputy Mayor for Business & Growth Howard Dawber welcomed QBase into London's fast growing quantum-AI cluster and declared it “open for business” during the opening event. Dawber reiterated City Hall's support for application-driven centers, early-stage finance, and skills. Application-driven hubs like QBase reduce quantum industry adoption risk. QBase was designed for collaboration and openness. This arrangement can be formed by investors, politicians, executives, students, and researchers. Participants can pilot and pressure-test ideas here. These pilots will use cutting-edge AI, classical computers, and quantum devices. These skills enable teams commercialize quantum and AI solutions faster.
Industry Leaders Support Timing and Mission Many academic and commercial leaders welcomed the launch, emphasizing that now is the moment to invest. They all stressed the importance of ecosystems like QBase for adoption, skill development, and smart investment decisions. Wasseem Shiraz, Quantinuum's SVP, provided an industry perspective and a short-term vision for how quantum technologies might complement AI and HPC. Northeastern University London Deputy Dean Naomi Goulder stressed the partnership's importance in workforce development and academic education.
