This is actually really interesting, because I bloody hated him as a kid. Phoebus was the reason I watched the sequel so much as a kid. Now I watched the film again at older age and… oh my.
The goodness in him, I think. It’s really cliché thing to say, but the word just gets a whole different meaning with Phoebus. There’s a lot of scenes of him that would’ve felt like overused tropes with any other Disney hero but that just worked with him. He’s so different from the Disney princes, it’s really a shame that most people dislike him because of the not-so-fairytale ending.
