Puddles has been enjoying the company of his new friend, Webby Vanderquack this week. 💖 Webby, who normally lives with our duck and goose flock, acquired some small injuries on her face and neck from being mated by the over-zealous males (it’s duck mating season). Since Puddles is disabled, he is a much more gentle companion for her as she heals. While he normally hides from the other ducks when we try to integrate, he has decided Webby is a perfect friend. We’ve seen many posts lately with people proudly parading the dead bodies of ducks they have hunted, and we remind you that killing animals is both cruel and unnecessary. Ducks do indeed have best friends, families, significant others (especially this time of year) and feel fear, love, pain, and joy. Please don’t be the cause of someone else’s suffering when their best friend is killed for your entertainment. If you think it’s a personal choice, you’re forgetting about someone.
