This is the beautiful, clever, sweet, and endlessly entertaining little flying fox I bottle raised. I met her as a tiny, scared 2 week old orphan and got to watch her transform to the confident, independent, and naughty young lady she is today, ruling the roost in bat preschool before all the kids move to the release cage later this year. What an incredible honour, and an incredible girl 💜

There are many rescue centers dedicated to rescuing various different bat species. Thanks to the swaddling of orphan bats looking incredibly cute, many rescues that target megabats (such as Black Flying Foxes) have gotten some extra recognition online!
