1 Samuel 3:1-10. [1] “The boy Samuel served before the Lord under Eli's supervision. At that time messages from the Lord were rare—visions were not common. [2] One evening, Eli had gone to bed in his room. His eyes were now so weak that he couldn't see. [3] The lamp of God hadn't yet gone out, and Samuel was sleeping in the Lord's Temple where the Ark of God was. [4] Then the Lord called, “Samuel!” He answered, “I'm here.” [5] He ran to Eli, and said, “I'm here—you called me.” “I didn't call you,” Eli replied. “Go back to bed.” So Samuel went back to bed. [6] Then the Lord called again, “Samuel!” Samuel got up, went to Eli and said, “I'm here—you called me.” “I didn't call you, my son,” Eli replied. “Go back to bed.” [7] (Samuel hadn't yet come to know the Lord and had not received any message from him.) [8] The Lord called again for the third time, “Samuel!” He got up went to Eli and said, “I'm here—you called me.” Then Eli realized that it was the Lord calling the boy. [9] Eli told Samuel, “Go back to bed, and if he calls you, say, ‘Speak, Lord, because your servant is listening.’” So Samuel went back to his bed. [10] The Lord came and stood there, calling just as before, “Samuel! Samuel!” Samuel answered, “Speak, because your servant is listening.” (FBV)
“Samuel was young, the temple was quiet, and the lamp of God had not yet gone out. In the stillness of the night, God called his name - but Samuel first had to learn how to recognize the voice that was speaking.
Spiritual discernment is not always instant. Sometimes we need guidance, humility, and a listening heart to understand when God is calling us. Samuel did not fully understand everything yet, but he responded with openness: “Speak, Lord, for Your servant is listening.”
There are seasons when God does not shout over the noise around us. Instead, He invites us into deeper attentiveness, where obedience begins before full understanding.
In noisy seasons, your next breakthrough may not come through louder opinions but through a quieter sensitivity to God’s voice.”

This is one of my favourite stories from the Bible, so I just had to share it. I often quote it.
There was a time, before Jesus, when people didn't hear from God. Nowadays, because of Jesus, it is possible for every believer to hear and speak to God, our Heavenly Father.
Joel 2:28-29 spoke of this,
[28] “It shall come about after this That I shall pour out My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and your daughters will prophesy, Your old men will dream dreams, Your young men will see visions. [29] “Even on the male and female servants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.” (AMP)
All God asks, is that we seek love and seek Him in faith,
“I love those who love me. Those who seek me diligently will find me.” (Proverbs 8:17 WEB)
“You shall seek me and find me, when you search for me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13 WEB)
Friend, if you have not heard from God yet (as Samuel did), He is never far away. Seek Him diligently, and you will find Him. He already knows where you are. The Lord be praised!
Amen and Hallelujah! 🙏🕊️🙌
