The high of proving them all wrong

At the beginning, nobody believed in you.
Your ideas sounded too unrealistic. Your plans seemed too uncertain. Your ambition looked like a risk no one wanted to support.
So people gave advice.
“Be practical.” “Don’t waste your time.” “Maybe try something safer.”
Some of them meant well.
Others just couldn’t imagine the path you were trying to walk.
But belief from others was never the real test.
The real test was what you did after hearing all of it.
You kept learning. You kept working. You kept building something no one else could see yet.
Quietly. Consistently.
And slowly, the results started to appear.
Not all at once. Just enough to prove that the effort mattered.
Then one day the same people who doubted you begin to say something different.
“I knew you could do it.”
But you remember the truth.
Nobody believed in you at the start.
And somehow, you kept going anyway.
Is it weird for a 19 y.o to be friends with 13-14 y.o's?
Yes
No
CONTEXT:
I'm trying to prove my mother wrong. We know someone who is 19 that doesn't want to be friends with these 2 girls that had followed them around one day.
I, and them, think it's VERY FUCKING WEIRD if a 19 y.o was friends with two 13-14 girls. My mom, on the other hand, believes it's okay. With her using the excuses of "I grew up with everyone knowing everyone on the street" and "She doesn't have any friends, it doesn't matter with age if it's friendly", etc.
These two girls are not even in their street, actually they're a little far away in fact. And, in our opinions, it's doesn't matter if it's platonic... it's weird. These two girls are not related to them by family, and while I was arguing with my mom she decided to pull out the "does this mean you wouldn't be friends with your little sister's friends?" card. I'm 25, my little sister, and her friend, are 10-11...
So please, answer honestly with the question. And either prove my mom right or wrong.

These two LOVELY lads are Giuseppe and Francois, two of @gardenbellythepumpkin s characters. They’re meant to be background characters in the comic that belly is writing, but I OBJECT TO THAT IDEA they are my BABIES and they should be the MAIN CHARACTERS I LOVE THEM SO MUCH.
Francois is a catfish since his mustache looks like catfish whiskers and Giuseppe is a Moray Eel because when the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie that’s a moray 🤷
