Soft Limits
Summary: Louise has always been more comfortable understanding things through observation, questions, and careful experimentation. So when Lando offers her the chance to ask for anything, she chooses something neither of them quite expects—and what begins as a playful exercise in curiosity quickly becomes something far more vulnerable.

The room always felt suspended outside of time.
No clocks. No windows. Just the low amber glow spilling from the sconces along the dark walls, velvet shadows stretching long across the floor, the muted bass from somewhere deeper in the club vibrating faintly through the furniture. Tucked away at the end of a private corridor only a handful of members had access to, and Louise had always loved that about it. It felt detached from the performance downstairs. Less like a stage. More like a confession booth.
The bed sat off center, sheets already ruined into soft disarray from the way Lando had collapsed onto them earlier, still laughing breathlessly from the drink he’d almost spilled while trying to unlock the door with one hand and kiss her with the other.
Now he lounged against the headboard in loose black trousers and nothing else, with one knee bent. The gold chain at his throat glinted whenever he moved. Across from him, Louise sat sideways on the padded bench at the foot of the bed, elbows resting against the mattress, chin propped on her folded hands.
Watching him.
Which, honestly, should’ve worried him sooner.
“You’re being weirdly quiet,” he said eventually, narrowing his eyes at her.
Louise only smiled a little.
Not enough to reassure him.
Lando had told her she could claim a gift, he’d told her the second they got inside the room.
Anything she wants.
And because Louise usually approached sex like someone carefully selecting a book from a library shelf — thoughtful, curious, methodical — he’d assumed she’d ask to try something from the annotated encyclopedia she kept in the cabinet beside the bed. Maybe a new restraint position. Maybe something involving the silk ties she’d been eyeing for weeks.
Instead she’d looked at him for a very long moment and said, softly:
“I want to watch you touch yourself.”
Lando had blinked.
Then laughed once in disbelief, because surely she’d say she was joking.
She hadn’t.
“Like you do when you’re alone,” she clarified.
His mouth had actually fallen open a little at that.
“What?” he asked, staring at her. “Are you serious?”
Louise nodded with that painfully innocent expression that made her infinitely more dangerous than anyone who looked overtly provocative ever could.
“Yes.”
“Lou…”
“And you have to explain it.”
His brows pulled together immediately. “Explain what?”
“What you’re doing.” Her voice stayed calm, gentle. Curious. “What feels good. Why it feels good.”
Something flashed across his face then — embarrassment first, sharp and immediate.
Real embarrassment.
Which almost never happened.
“Oh my God,” he muttered, dragging a hand down his face while she fought a smile. “You can’t just— no, that’s insane.”
But she could already see it happening — the shift underneath the teasing. The slow heat creeping into his chest. Into his stomach. Because beneath the horror of being perceived so specifically, there was something else too.
Excitement.
Lando liked being watched more than he admitted.
He liked being understood even more.
Louise tilted her head against her hands, still resting at the edge of the mattress. “Please?”
The softness of it nearly killed him.
He stared at her for another long second before exhaling sharply through his nose, muttering something under his breath that sounded suspiciously like for fuck’s sake.
Then he shifted lower against the headboard.
Louise felt her pulse stutter instantly at the sight alone.
Not because it was overtly sexual yet — it wasn’t. It was the intimacy of it. The vulnerability. The fact that this wasn’t performative dominance or carefully orchestrated seduction. She was asking to witness something private. Something usually hidden behind closed doors and darkness and late nights apart from her.
Lando noticed her watching every movement.
Of course he did.
His fingers paused briefly at the waistband of his trousers. “You’re really gonna sit there staring at me?”
“Yes.”
“You look way too sweet for this conversation. Gosh—”
He huffed a quiet laugh, shaking his head before finally tugging the waistband lower just enough. His shoulders stayed tense at first, his expression twisted somewhere between amusement and self-consciousness. Then instead of putting them anywhere sensible, he immediately balled them up and tossed them straight at her.
Louise barely had time to register what was happening before the fabric smacked her squarely in the face.
"Hey!"
She grabbed the trousers from where they had landed over her nose and pulled them away.
For a second, the teasing fell away, leaving something quieter between them. Lando caught her gaze and held it, the corner of his mouth still curved upward, but there was something warmer underneath it now.
Louise stared at him for a beat before a grin slowly spread across her face.
Then Louise ruined the moment deliberately.
“Can I have your underwear too?”
Lando let out a sharp, breathless laugh, the sound echoing against the velvet walls. “You are… fuck I don't even know,” he muttered, though he was already hooking his thumbs into the elastic. He didn’t look away from her as he pulled them down, tossing the fabric in her direction. Now he was completely bare, the amber light of the room casting long, golden shadows across his muscles.
He shifted back against the headboard, his posture slightly more guarded, though his eyes were dark with a growing, focused intensity.
Louise didn’t move. She remained perched on the edge of the bench, her gaze steady and clinical yet soft, observing the way his chest rose and fell. The silence stretched, thick and expectant, until Lando finally let out a shaky exhale. He reached down, his hand wrapping around himself with a slow, deliberate grip. He didn't start moving immediately; he just held himself there for a moment, letting her see the way he reacted to her stare.
“Are you hard?” Louise asked. Her voice was barely a whisper, devoid of judgment, possessing only that focused, autistic curiosity that always made Lando feel like he was being mapped out in real-time.
Lando looked down at himself, then back at her. He didn’t let go of his grip, his thumb tracing the ridge of his glans with a slow, tentative pressure. “Not fully,” he admitted, his voice sounding scratchier than it had been a moment ago. “Just… getting there.”
Louise shifted her weight, her elbows still anchored to the mattress, her eyes never leaving the point of contact between his hand and his skin. “How does it usually happen?” she asked softly. “When you’re alone. Does the hardness come first—like a sudden thing you have to deal with—or do you just decide you want to do it, and you start touching yourself until you get hard?”
Lando paused, his hand stilling. He hadn't been asked to analyze the mechanics of his own arousal in a way that felt so separate from the act itself. It forced him to actually think about it. He swallowed hard, his gaze drifting to the ceiling for a second before snapping back to her.
“Usually… it’s the second one,” he murmured, his chest heaving slightly. “Like, I’ll be thinking about something—and I’ll just… decide. I’ll start touching, and it’s like waking something up. It’s not a switch; it’s more like a slow burn.” He shifted his grip, his fingers tightening slightly. “Right now, it’s because you’re looking at me like I’m a specimen in a lab, and for some reason, that’s doing it for me.”
“How often?” Louise asked, her voice drifting through the amber light.
Lando’s hand continued a slow, rhythmic glide, though he didn't pick up the pace. He looked at her, a small, sheepish smile tugging at the corner of his mouth. “Not that often,” he admitted. “I mean, not as often as most guys probably do. I like to… space it out. Let the pressure build up a bit. It makes it better when it actually happens.” He paused, his gaze softening. “Especially if I know I’m seeing you soon. If I save it, it’s like… everything is just louder. More intense. I want to be as desperate for you as possible by the time I actually get you in the room.”
Lando’s hand shifted, his thumb grazing the sensitive underside of the head as he let out a low, humming sound. “Though,” he added, his voice dropping an octave, “there are the times when I don’t have a choice in the matter. The morning ones. Those are just… sneaky. They happen before I’m even fully awake, and suddenly I’m just lying there, trapped by my own body, waiting for the feeling to fade or for someone to wake me up.” He chuckled, the sound vibrating in his chest. “Sometimes they’re so stubborn that no matter how much I try to ignore them, they just won't go away until I deal with them.”
“Do you always just use your hands?” Louise asked, her eyes tracking the rhythmic movement of his wrist. She didn’t sound suggestive; she sounded like she was gathering data, her focus so absolute that Lando felt a prickle of heat climb his neck.
Lando let out a short, self-deprecating laugh, his grip tightening as he shifted his weight. “Yeah. Mostly. I mean, I’ve tried a few things. A couple of toys back in the day.” He paused, a look of genuine annoyance crossing his face as he recalled the logistical nightmare of it all. “But honestly? They’re a liability. I tried bringing a couple of them on the road once, but keeping them hidden is like playing a high-stakes game of Tetris with my luggage. I’ve lost two to the bottom of suitcases, and once I actually forgot one in a hotel room during a weekend getaway.” He groaned softly, his hand continuing its steady glide. “The stress of worrying if a teammate or a steward is going to find a silicone sleeve in my gear bag is way less erotic than just using my hands. It’s simpler. Less risk of a very awkward conversation with my manager.”
Louise nodded slowly, absorbing this. The idea of him—composed, professional Lando—frantically searching for a misplaced toy in a hotel room brought a small, affectionate smile to her lips.
Louise shifted her position, “Tell me about the hand part. Not just that you’re doing it, but how. Do you use the same grip the whole time, or do you change it? Like, do you switch between a tight squeeze and something looser? Or do you move your hand in different ways?”
Lando paused, his hand hovering for a second as he processed the question. He looked down at his own fingers, as if seeing them for the first time. “I… I don’t really think about it that way,” he admitted, though he didn't stop the motion. “But if I have to… yeah. I usually start slow. Just a light wrap, kind of testing the waters.”
He began to move again, his voice dropping into a low, rhythmic cadence that matched the glide of his palm. “Then it gets tighter. Once it’s fully hard, I want to feel everything. I grip it harder, almost like I’m trying to push the feeling all the way to the base.” He shifted his hand, sliding it up and then pausing just before the top, his thumb applying a sudden, focused pressure against the ridge. “And then there’s the flick. My thumb does this little circling thing right here—at the head—while the rest of my hand just keeps the steady beat. It’s like… a double layer of feeling. One steady and one sharp.”
Lando’s breathing had shifted, the rhythm becoming jagged and shallow. The amber light seemed to pulse in time with the thrum of his heart, which was now hammering against his ribs. He was no longer just explaining; he was slipping into the haze of it, the same focused tunnel-vision he got on a track, where everything else—the room, the noise of the club, the very concept of time—simply ceased to exist. His grip tightened, his knuckles whitening as he increased the speed, the friction building a heat that radiated through his entire lower body. He let out a low, guttural groan, his head falling back against the headboard, eyes fluttering shut.
"You changed the movement of your hand," Louise’s voice drifted in, cutting through the fog. "Why?"
Lando jerked, his eyes snapping open to find her still there, watching him with that unnerving, precise intensity. He stopped for a heartbeat, his chest heaving, his body vibrating with the sudden interruption. He looked down at his hand, which was clamped tight, his wrist angled differently than it had been a moment ago.
"Because..." he panted, his voice sounding wrecked. "Because I'm getting close. When it starts to feel like... like it's too much, I change the angle. I shift the pressure because if I keep doing the same thing, I'll just blow it right now." He let out a shaky laugh, though it sounded more like a gasp. "It's like a governor on an engine. I have to modulate it, or I'll redline. And right now, Lou, I'm very close to redlining."
“What do you think about?” she asked quietly after a while.
Lando didn’t answer immediately. His hand had resumed its steady, punishing rhythm, but his gaze was fixed on a point somewhere past the velvet curtains of the room. He looked almost glazed, his pupils blown wide, his chest heaving in a way that made the gold chain at his throat dance against his skin. He let out a long, shaky breath, the sound catching in his throat.
“I don’t always think about a specific thing,” he admitted, his voice a raw, low rasp. “Sometimes it’s just… a feeling. Like a pressure building up in my head that only goes away when I’m doing this. But when I do think…” He paused, his grip tightening as he pushed through a particularly sharp wave of pleasure. “It’s usually you.”
Warmth bloomed through her chest.
"I think about the way you look when you're actually focused on something. Like right now." He glanced at her then, flushed and incredulous all over again, but arousal had started blurring the edges of his composure now. She could see it in the way his breathing deepened. In the way his hand tightened unconsciously.
“Sometimes specific things,” he admitted hoarsely. “Certain sounds you make. That smugness almost returned — almost — before another breath caught in his throat.
“And sometimes,” he continued more unevenly, “it’s just missing you.”
Lando’s hand didn’t slow, but the friction was becoming a fever. He was operating in that narrow, vibrating space between control and collapse, his wrist snapping in a fast, blurred rhythm that made the gold chain at his neck shimmer frantically. He wasn’t just talking now; he was reporting from the edge of a cliff. Every word felt like it was being dragged out of him, punctuated by the sharp, wet sound of skin on skin and the erratic hitch of his breath.
Louise leaned in, her curiosity sharpening as she watched the tension in his thighs, the way his muscles were coiled tight, vibrating with a suppressed energy. She noticed the way his grip had become almost desperate, the thumb still circling that sensitive ridge with a frantic, focused precision.
“How do you decide?” she asked, her voice a low, steady contrast to his chaos. “How do you decide when to stop fighting it? When do you actually decide to let go and just… cum?”
Lando let out a sound that was half-groan, half-laugh, his head lolling back against the headboard. He looked completely undone, his composure stripped away by the sheer physics of his own arousal.
“It’s like… a countdown,” he managed to gasp, his eyes half-closed, the amber light of the room casting a glow across the sweat beginning to bead on his forehead. “There’s this point where the feeling stops being a thing I’m doing to myself and starts being a thing that’s happening to me. Like a wave. Once it hits a certain height, I can’t just… push it back. I can only ride it.”
“Are you close?” Louise asked.
The question was a soft probe, a final data point in her observation. She didn't move from her spot on the bench, but she leaned forward just an inch more, her gaze locked on the frantic, blurring movement of his wrist.
Lando didn't answer with words at first. He let out a sound that was barely human—a strangled, high-pitched hitch in his throat—as his hips gave a small, involuntary jerk against the mattress. His eyes were squeezed shut, his jaw locked tight, every tendon in his neck standing out in sharp relief.
“Yes,” he finally gasped, the word barely a whisper, shattered by the effort of his breathing. “Fuck, yes.”
Louise tilted her head, her expression one of genuine, quiet wonder. “Then what are you waiting for?”
That hit harder than anything else had.
His head snapped back, hitting the headboard with a dull thud, his eyes squeezed shut as his entire body arched.
“Fuck—oh, shit!” he gasped, the words fracturing into a ragged moan.
The release was sudden and forceful. With one last, desperate squeeze of his hand, he let go, and the pressure erupted. He didn't move his hand away in time; the warmth splashed across his stomach and pooled in the creases of his thighs, a frantic, messy testament to how long he’d been holding back. He let out a long, shuddering exhale, his chest heaving as the intensity peaked and then slowly began to ebb, leaving him vibrating in the aftershock.
His hand slowed, the rhythmic blur finally coming to a halt. His fingers remained curled loosely around himself, the grip slackening as the hypersensitivity of the aftermath set in. He stayed like that for a long minute, his arm trembling slightly, his gaze unfocused and distant. The room felt too quiet, the amber light suddenly too bright, the silence only broken by the sound of his heartbeat drumming a frantic rhythm against the mattress.
Louise didn't look away. She leaned in, her eyes tracking the way the fluid clung to his skin, observing the slow, rhythmic rise and fall of his abdomen. She looked at him with a level of fascination that was almost clinical, yet deeply tender, as if she were studying a map of a place she had finally been allowed to visit.
For a few seconds afterward, the room went completely still.
His head rested back against the wall behind the headboard, throat exposed, chest rising hard beneath the warm amber light. One hand stayed loose around himself while the other covered his eyes briefly as if he physically couldn’t cope with being perceived right now.
Louise didn’t move.
She stayed folded against the edge of the bed exactly as she had been, cheek resting on her forearm atop the mattress, looking at him with an expression so soft it almost undid him more than the orgasm itself had.
There was the tiniest smile on her mouth.
Just enough for the dimples to appear.
And fuck, that smile.
Lando dragged his hand down from his face slowly, blinking at her through the lingering haze while his breathing evened out in uneven little pulls. Only then did he glance downward at the mess smeared across his hand and lower stomach.
Then back at her.
Still watching.
Still entirely too pleased with herself.
“Oh, no,” he said hoarsely, pointing vaguely at her with his clean hand. “You don’t get to sit there looking innocent after that.”
A quiet laugh escaped her, soft enough that it blended into the room around them, and Lando felt the last remnants of embarrassment loosen fully in his chest hearing it. He looked wrecked — flushed cheeks, damp skin, hair falling into his eyes — and somehow she was looking at him like he’d just handed her something precious.
Like trust itself was erotic.
It made his chest ache in that awful tender way she had of causing.
Lando glanced back down at himself again before exhaling dramatically. “Are you seriously just going to keep staring at me,” he asked, “or are you going to help clean up the mess you caused?”
Louise lifted her brows slightly. “I caused?”
“You absolutely caused this.” His voice was still rough around the edges, sleep-heavy and wrecked in a way that made warmth curl through her stomach all over again. “This is entirely your fault.”
She pushed herself upright slowly then, unhurried on purpose, walking to the bedside tbale to gather a cloth, and he watched her approach with immediate attention despite himself. Always like this. Like his body recalibrated the second she moved toward him.
The mattress dipped beneath her knees as she climbed onto the bed.
Closer now, she could see the aftermath of pleasure still lingering everywhere on him — the pink flush spread across his chest, the slight tremor left in his stomach every few breaths, the way his pupils stayed blown wide when he looked at her.
Louise reached for his wrist first.
Gentle.
Careful.
Lando’s expression shifted instantly at the touch, tension easing out of him as she guided his hand away from his stomach. Neither of them spoke for a moment while she grabbed the cloth.
The intimacy of it settled warm and heavy between them.
Because that was always the thing with them.
Not the sex.
Not even the games.
This part.
The quiet aftermaths.
The softness no one else got to see from either of them.
Louise cleaned his hand first, slow strokes over his knuckles and fingers while Lando watched her with an expression that had gone strangely distant. Thoughtful.
“You liked that way too much,” he murmured eventually.
She glanced up. “Watching you?”
“Mhm.”
“I did.”
“No shame whatsoever.”
“None.”
His mouth twitched.
Louise shifted then, dragging the cloth gently across the damp skin low on his abdomen, and Lando inhaled sharply at the sensation despite himself. Oversensitive now. She knew that. Knew exactly how his body reacted after.
Her eyes flicked upward immediately, catching the way his jaw tightened.
“Sensitive?” she asked softly.
“You think?”
The smugness in her smile returned faintly.
“Poor thing.”
“Oh, don’t start acting sweet now,” he muttered, though there was no bite behind it anymore. “You’re evil.”
Louise laughed again under her breath, quieter this time, before tossing the cloth aside onto the nightstand.
Then she settled beside him properly.
Close enough that their legs tangled immediately.
Lando looked at her for another long second before reaching up to brush his thumb against the dimple still faintly visible in her cheek.
“That smile,” he said tiredly. “It’s terrifying.”
She leaned into his hand automatically. “You’re dramatic.”
“You asked me to give a live commentary while I masturbated, Louise.”
“That’s true.”
“And then you watched me like you were attending a lecture.”
“I learned a lot.”
Lando groaned, dropping his forehead against her shoulder while she laughed softly into his hair, fingers immediately sliding through the curls at the nape of his neck.
And just like that, the room changed again.
Less heat now.
More closeness.
The kind that settled deep into the bones.
⸻
Lando traced absentminded circles along her arm while staring at the ceiling like he was thinking very seriously about something.
His mouth twitched slightly.
He finally looked over at her then, eyes still warm and sleepy from earlier, though there was something else underneath now too. Something amused.
Something determined.
“You know,” he said casually, “I feel like this relationship lacks balance.”
Louise narrowed her eyes immediately. “And?”
“And now it’s my turn.”
There it was.
Louise felt herself laugh quietly before burying her face deeper into the pillow. “No.”
Lando grinned instantly, vindicated already. “Interesting that you say no so fast.”
She lifted her head just enough to stare at him flatly.
Lando broke first, laughing under his breath before rolling onto his side toward her. His fingers slid higher along her middle, slow and absentminded, but she knew him well enough to recognize distraction tactics when she saw them.
“I want to watch you,” he said eventually.
Louise’s expression changed immediately.
Not dramatic. Most people probably wouldn’t have noticed it.
But Lando did.
Because Louise rarely looked uncertain in this room anymore. Quiet sometimes. Hesitant at first with new things. But not uncertain.
Now her gaze dropped briefly to the sheets between them.
The confidence drained out of his teasing almost instantly. “Hey,” he said softer, brushing his fingertips against her leg. “You know you don’t have to.”
Louise didn’t look back at him. She kept her gaze fixed on a stray thread of the sheets, her fingers twisting the fabric. “I know that,” she murmured, her voice sounding smaller than it had all evening. “It’s just… I don’t actually know what to do.”
Lando paused, his hand still resting on her leg. He didn't push; he didn't laugh. He just waited.
“I mean, I know in theory,” she continued, her words coming out in a careful, measured stream. “I’ve read about it. I know the anatomy, the biological triggers, the… the mechanics of it. But I’ve never actually done it. To myself. To actually know what feels good.”
That caught him off guard.
Not because it shocked him exactly, but because he’d never considered it before. Louise approached pleasure differently than anyone he’d ever known. Deliberately. Through connection. Through reaction. She liked giving almost as much as receiving, liked intimacy because it tethered her somewhere emotionally as much as physically.
The idea of her alone with herself suddenly felt oddly heartbreaking to him.
“Wait,” he said carefully. “Like… never?”
Louise pressed her cheek deeper into the pillow, visibly embarrassed now. “Not never.”
“But not often.”
“Not really.”
“Why?”
She hesitated.
Then laughed softly at herself.
“I don’t know. My brain gets in the way.” Her voice stayed quiet but matter-of-fact. “It’s easier with you there.”
Something warm pulled low in Lando’s chest at that.
God.
Sometimes she said things so plainly that they landed twice as hard.
He studied her for another moment before his expression softened completely.
“Okay,” he said simply.
Louise blinked at him. “Okay?”
“We adapt.”
There was that easy confidence again, but gentler now. Less teasing. More reassuring.
Lando shifted closer until their knees pressed together beneath the sheets. “I’ll tell you what to do.”
Her brows lifted slightly.
“And you tell me how it feels,” he continued. “Deal?”
Louise looked at him for a long moment then.
Not evaluating.
Trusting.
Which somehow felt infinitely more intimate.
“You swear this isn’t revenge?” she asked quietly.
Lando’s expression turned deeply offended. “Louise.”
“You’re smiling.”
“I’m not.”
“You absolutely are.”
“Okay,” he admitted, laughing softly. “Maybe a little revenge.”
She huffed out a small laugh despite herself, and the tension in her shoulders loosened enough that he knew they were okay again.
Lando reached up, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear carefully. “We stop the second you say the word.”
Louise didn’t answer with words; she simply nodded, a small, decisive movement that signaled her surrender to the experiment. Lando didn't waste a second. With a fluid, effortless strength, he shifted his weight, hooking his arm around her waist to guide her movements. He maneuvered himself back against the headboard, sliding upward until he was half-seated, his legs spread in a wide, relaxed V that created a private sanctuary of space for her. Louise settled into the center of it, kneeling between his thighs, her knees sinking into the plush mattress.
The change in perspective shifted everything. From here, she could see the gold chain still resting against his collarbone and the way his chest continued to heave in a slow, lingering rhythm. Lando looked at her, his gaze dark and focused, the teasing edge of his voice replaced by something steadier, something guiding.
"Dress off," he murmured.
It wasn't a command of dominance, but a request for clarity. He wanted the barriers gone.
Louise didn’t move immediately; she lingered in the space between the command and the action, her gaze meeting his. There was a specific kind of gravity to the request, a shift from the clinical observation of the last hour to a shared, focused vulnerability. She reached for the hem of the fabric, the dark material bunching up beneath her fingertips. Slowly, she began to pull it upward, the dress sliding over her hips and waist with a soft, frictional hiss. As the fabric climbed higher, the cool air of the room hit her skin, creating a sharp, bracing contrast to the heat radiating from Lando’s body just inches away.
"You're perfect," he whispered, his voice humming with a genuine warmth that smoothed over her hesitation. He didn't rush her. Instead, he leaned back, giving her the space to breathe, to exist in the same raw honesty he had given her moments before. "Now, just relax. Don't think about the 'how' or the 'right' way to do it. There is no right way. There's just what you feel."
Louise still didn’t move. Her arms remained stiff by her sides, her fingers curling slightly into the palms of her hands as if trying to hold onto a sense of grounding. Her gaze fell back to the cream-colored sheets. Her voice came out barely louder than a whisper, a fragile thread of sound that seemed to vibrate with a sudden, overwhelming uncertainty.
"Lando... I..."
She trailed off, the sentence unfinished, hanging in the air between them. The silence that followed wasn't empty; it was heavy with the weight of her self-consciousness. For someone who could dissect the mechanics of arousal with clinical precision, the actual transition from observer to subject felt like crossing an invisible, terrifying border. The vulnerability was sudden and sharp, leaving her feeling exposed in a way that had nothing to do with her lack of clothing.
Lando didn't jump in with a joke or a quick fix. He stayed still, allowing the silence to exist without pressure. He could see the way her shoulders were hunched, the way she was retreating into herself. He knew that for Louise, the world could sometimes become too loud, too tactile, or too much all at once. He shifted his position slightly, not to close the gap, but to let her know he was present, a steady anchor in the amber light.
He reached out and hooked his arm around her waist, pulling her firmly against his chest. He didn’t pull her into a kiss or a demand, but rather a sheltering embrace, tucking her head into the warm hollow of his shoulder. He began a slow, rhythmic petting motion, his palm smoothing over the tension in her upper back and the curve of her shoulder blades. He didn't stop until he felt the rigid line of her spine finally soften, until the frantic, shallow quality of her breathing settled into something deeper and more synchronized with his own.
Louise let out a long, shuddering sigh, her face remaining pressed firmly into the crook of his neck. The scent of him—salt, expensive cologne, and the lingering heat of the last hour—acted as a sensory anchor, pulling her back from the edge of a panic she hadn't fully named.
“Hey,” he whispered, his voice vibrating against her temple. “Do you remember when we talked about limits? Back at the beginning, before we ever came here?”
Louise gave a small, barely perceptible nod against his skin, her eyes closing tight.
“Do you think this is one?” he asked softly, his hand continuing those slow, grounding circles on her shoulder. “Is this a hard limit for you? Because if it is, we stop. Right now. We just cuddle and order a ridiculously expensive room service menu, and that’s the end of the experiment. No pressure, Lou. None.”
Louise stayed silent for a long moment, her forehead still pressed into the warmth of his collarbone. She felt the steady thrum of his heart against her chest, a rhythmic constant that helped her categorize the chaos in her mind. She didn’t want to stop—the idea of the experiment still held a magnetic pull—but the distance between knowing the theory and executing the practice felt like a chasm.
“Maybe,” she murmured, her voice muffled against his skin. “Maybe it’s a soft limit.”
Lando didn’t move his arm, keeping the embrace firm and secure. “A soft limit,” he repeated, his tone thoughtful, devoid of any judgment. “Like, you’re not sure if you want to cross it, or you just need a different way to do it?”
“Yes,” Louise breathed, the word barely escaping her lips. “I want to know. But I don't know how to start without... without it feeling like a chore. Like a task I'm failing.”
Lando shifted, his grip on her waist loosening just enough to let her pull back, though he kept one hand anchored on the small of her back to keep her close. He looked at her with an expression of profound patience, the kind of focus he usually reserved for a perfect lap at Monaco, but softened by an affection that made her feel seen.
“Then we don't treat it like a task,” Lando said, his voice dropping to a low, comforting hum. “We treat it like a demo. A walk-through.”
He shifted his weight, guiding her to lean back slightly, creating a small gap between them.
“Then we don't treat it like a task,” Lando said, his voice dropping to a low, comforting hum. “We treat it like a demo. A walk-through.”
He shifted his weight, guiding her to lean back slightly, creating a small gap between them
“Here’s the plan,” he whispered, his hand sliding from her back to the soft curve of her hip. “I’m going to touch you. I’m going to do the things I know you like—and I want you to just watch my hand. Don't think about the 'how' or the 'why.' Just watch where I go and how it feels. And then, when you feel like you've got the rhythm, you can just... copy me.
Louise felt a sudden, sharp spike of anticipation. The idea of a mirror, of a physical map being drawn in real-time on her own skin, made the overwhelming nature of the task feel manageable. It wasn't a test she had to pass; it was a guide she just had to follow.
Lando didn't rush. He moved with a slow, deliberate grace, his hands sliding from her hips to her shoulders to guide her backward. He eased her down into the plushness of the mattress, the velvet sheets gathering in soft folds around them. He didn't let her settle flat; instead, he shifted his own weight, keeping his legs spread in that wide, grounding V, and guided her until she was nestled deeply between his thighs. He nudged her knees outward, prompting her to bend them, leaving her open and exposed to the amber light and his focused gaze.
The position was intimate, almost architectural, with Lando acting as the frame and Louise as the center. From this angle, she felt the heat of his legs pressing against the sides of her hips, a physical boundary that made the vastness of the room disappear. She looked up at him, her breath hitching, and saw that his expression had shifted again. He wasn't teasing her anymore. There was a quiet, reverent intensity in his eyes, as if he were handling something fragile and priceless.
“Just breathe, Lou,” he murmured, his voice a low vibration that seemed to hum through the mattress. “Don't look at the ceiling, don't look at the door. Just look at my hand.”
Lando’s hand drifted downward, his movement slow and unhurried, ensuring she could track every inch of the journey. When he reached her, he didn't dive in; he didn't even use his palm. Instead, he used the very tip of his index finger, barely grazing the sensitive peak of her clit with a light, fluttering flick. It was a tentative, rhythmic tap—a precision strike that sent a sudden, electric jolt straight up her spine. The sensation was sharp and focused, a singular point of intensity that made Louise’s hips give a small, involuntary upward jerk.
"Right there," he whispered, his voice sounding like a secret. "Just a little flick. Like you're testing a button."
He maintained the rhythm for a few seconds, the repetitive, light pressure building a localized heat that made her breath hitch. Then, he abruptly pulled his hand back, though he stayed close enough that she could feel the warmth of his chest. He didn't leave her hanging; he simply shifted the responsibility of the sensation into her own hands.
"Your turn," he murmured. "Same spot. Just a light flick, exactly like I did."
Louise hesitated, her fingers trembling as she reached down. She mirrored the movement, her index finger finding the small, pulsing point of heat he had just marked. She attempted the flick—a light, rhythmic tap—but the result was a jarring disconnect. When Lando did it, the sensation had been a lightning strike, a focused point of external stimulation that cut through the noise. When she did it herself, the experience was muted, dampened by the internal awareness of her own muscle movement. It felt clinical, a self-administered task, and the spark didn't catch.
"It's different," she whispered, her voice sounding small in the amber light. "The feeling... it’s not the same. It’s like there’s a wall between the touch and the sensation because I already know it’s coming. I can't... I can't feel the surprise of it."
Lando didn't look disappointed; if anything, he looked fascinated. He shifted his weight, leaning over her to watch the way her fingers moved. "That's the brain's way of filtering it out," he explained softly, his voice a low, comforting rumble. "It’s just proprioception. Your mind knows exactly where your hand is, so it cancels out the 'shock' of the touch. But that doesn't mean it's not working. It just means you have to find a different way to lean into it."
Louise felt a flicker of frustration, a desire to solve the puzzle of her own pleasure. She didn't want to stop. The vulnerability of the moment had evolved from something frightening into something compelling. She looked up at him, her eyes searching his. "I want to keep going,"
Lando’s gaze softened, his expression shifting into that of a patient instructor, though the heat in his eyes betrayed how much he was enjoying the view. “Okay,” he whispered.
He shifted his weight, sliding his hand back down. This time, he didn't use a single finger. He pressed two fingers—the index and the middle—firmly against the soft, damp entrance of her, the friction heightened by the natural lubrication pooling there. With a slow, deliberate pressure, he dragged them upward in a steady, gliding motion, tracing a line from the opening of her heat straight up to the peak of her clitoris. He didn't stop at the top; he pressed into her and slid back down, creating a rhythmic, sweeping motion that covered the entire sensitive stretch of skin.
Louise gasped, her back arching slightly. Unlike the light flick, this was a broad, saturating sensation. It felt like a wave of warmth washing over her, a deep, sliding pressure that bridged the gap between the internal and the external. The movement was methodical, a slow-motion map of her own arousal, and because of the amount of pressure he was applying, the sensation didn't just sit on the surface—it resonated deep in her pelvis.
“Now you,” Lando murmured, his voice a low vibration. “Two fingers. Start at the bottom, slide them all the way up to the top, and press in. Don't just touch it—push into it. Feel the weight of your own hand.”
Louise closed her eyes, focusing entirely on the phantom memory of his pressure. She mirrored the movement, pressing two fingers firmly into her own heat and dragging them upward in a slow, deliberate sweep. She pushed into herself, trying to replicate the weight of his hand, the way he had anchored her to the bed. The sensation was there—a warm, sliding friction that felt far more substantial than the light flick—but
It was as if she were watching a recording of the pleasure rather than experiencing it in real-time. The physical input was correct, the anatomy was responding, but the electric spark that had jumped through her when Lando touched her was missing.
"This one... this feels a bit better," she whispered, her voice strained with effort. "There's more to it. I can feel the pressure." She paused, her fingers hovering for a second before attempting another sweep. "But it's still muted. It’s like I’m touching myself through a layer of fabric, or like the volume is turned down. When you do it, it’s a shout. When I do it, it’s just... a whisper."
Lando watched her, his brow furrowed in concentration. He didn't look frustrated; he looked like he was solving a complex problem.
“Do you want to try more?” Lando asked, his voice barely a murmur. He remained anchored behind her, a warm presence that made the vastness of the private room feel small and safe. “We can keep exploring, or we can just stop here. No pressure, Lou. We can just exist in this for a while.”
Louise looked up at him, her eyes searching his. The frustration of the 'muted' sensation had sparked a stubborn curiosity in her. She didn't want to be a spectator to her own body; she wanted to break through that wall. “Yes,” she whispered, her voice firmer now. “I want to try more.”
Lando nodded slowly, his expression softening into something supportive. He didn't just give her another instruction; instead, he reached out and gently entwined his fingers with hers. He didn't take over; he simply guided her hand, using his own strength to bridge the gap between her hesitation and the action. With a slow, deliberate motion, he led her index finger toward the center of her heat.
Under his steady guidance, Louise felt her finger slide past the threshold and dip inside her.
The moment the digit crossed into the internal warmth, Louise’s entire body stiffened. She didn't gasp; instead, she let out a small, confused sound, her hips squirming instinctively against the mattress. She froze, her eyes wide and unfocused, as her brain tried to categorize the sensation. It wasn't the electric spark of the clitoral touch, nor was it the broad wave of the sweeping motion. It was a strange, intrusive fullness—a pressure that felt too loud, too direct, and fundamentally wrong.
She stayed like that for a few seconds, processing the foreignness of the feeling, before she abruptly shook her head. With a sharp, decisive movement, she pulled her hand away, her fingers snapping back as if she’d touched a hot stove.
"No," she whispered, her voice sounding strained. "I don't like it. It doesn't feel... good. It feels too much. It’s like someone trying to play a song but missing all the notes by an octave."
Lando didn't look surprised or disappointed. He immediately retracted his hand, giving her space, his eyes tracking the way she shifted her legs to create a protective barrier. He knew how she worked—how certain textures or pressures could suddenly flip from pleasant to overwhelming without warning. For Louise, the internal sensation hadn't been a discovery; it had been a sensory intrusion.
"That's okay," he said softly, his voice an immediate balm to her agitation. "We don't have to do that. We’ll just cross it off the list. It’s not a failure, Lou; it’s just data. Now we know that’s a 'no' for today."
Louise exhaled, the tension leaving her shoulders in a long, slow slump. She looked at her hand as if it belonged to someone else, then looked up at Lando. The fact that he didn't treat her distaste as a problem to be solved, but as a valid boundary, made her chest tighten with a different kind of heat.
Louise stayed quiet for a few seconds after that, staring somewhere over Lando’s shoulder as though she were still trying to make sense of what had just happened.
Then, slowly, she shifted.
She turned onto her side, drawing her knees slightly toward her chest until she had folded herself into a small shape beneath the sheets, almost instinctively making herself smaller. Her hands disappeared beneath the pillow, her face turned toward the mattress, and for a moment Lando simply watched her.
There was no dramatic reaction.
No tears.
No words.
Just the quiet retreat of someone who suddenly felt too exposed.
His chest tightened.
“Hey.”
Louise didn’t answer.
Lando moved closer without rushing her, sliding carefully behind her until his chest met the warmth of her back. He draped an arm around her waist and pulled the duvet higher over them both, fitting himself around her until there wasn’t much space left between them.
He didn’t try to turn her over.
He didn’t ask her to look at him.
He simply held her.
His palm settled against her stomach, thumb moving slowly back and forth through the fabric of the sheets.
“It’s okay,” he murmured.
Louise swallowed.
“I know.”
“I mean it.” His voice was quiet against the back of her head. “It’s completely okay.”
She remained curled up, her breathing still slightly uneven.
“We can try again whenever you want,” he continued. “Or whenever you feel like it. Or we don’t have to try again at all.”
That earned the smallest movement from her.
“You don’t have to figure it out tonight,” he whispered. “You don’t have to make yourself like something just because you thought you were supposed to. And you definitely don’t have to feel bad about it.”
Louise’s fingers tightened around the pillow.
“I feel a bit stupid.”
Lando’s eyebrows pulled together immediately.
“No.”
“I just—”
“No.” He pressed a soft kiss against her hair. “You’re not stupid.”
She was quiet again.
“I thought I’d know.”
“Know what?”
“How it was supposed to feel.”
Lando’s arm tightened around her by a fraction.
“There isn’t a supposed to.”
Louise exhaled slowly.
“I know that logically.”
“Yeah.” He smiled faintly against her hair. “Your brain’s very annoying about the difference between logically knowing something and actually believing it.”
A tiny breath of laughter escaped her.
“There she is,” he murmured.
Louise’s shoulders relaxed slightly.
“And for what it’s worth,” he added, “I’m actually really glad.”
That made her turn her head a fraction.
“Glad?”
“Yeah.”
She finally looked back at him over her shoulder.
Lando’s expression was completely sincere.
“I’m glad you told me when you didn’t like it. You didn’t try to pretend. You didn’t keep going because you thought you were supposed to make me happy.” His thumb brushed gently along her side. “You just told me no.”
Louise’s eyes softened.
“I trust you enough to do that.”
“I know.”
“And that’s a good thing.”
She looked at him for another moment before turning back around, but this time she didn’t curl quite as tightly into herself. Instead, she shifted backward until she was properly settled against his chest.
Lando smiled.
“Better?”
“Mhm.”
He kissed the back of her head again.
They stayed like that for a while, the room gradually returning to its ordinary quiet. The soft hum of the air conditioning. The faint city noise beyond the windows. Lando’s breathing behind her, slow and steady.
Eventually, Louise shifted again.
This time she turned completely.
She rolled onto her other side until she was facing him, her nose almost brushing his. Her eyes looked tired now, the earlier embarrassment softened into something more vulnerable.
Lando studied her face.
“You okay?”
She nodded.
“Do you want to go?”
Her eyebrows pinched together.
“Go where?”
“Anywhere.” He shrugged slightly. “We could get dressed. Go downstairs. Get food. Go for a drive. We don’t have to stay here.”
Louise stared at him for a moment.
Then she shook her head.
“No.”
“Okay.”
Her fingers crept across the sheets until they found the front of his shirt.
“I want…”
She hesitated.
Lando waited.
Louise’s voice came out small.
“Cuddles.”
His face softened immediately.
“Yeah?”
She nodded.
“And kisses.”
The smile that appeared on his face was so gentle it made something inside her loosen.
“Yeah,” he whispered. “I can definitely do that.”
He opened his arms.
Louise moved into them without hesitation.
She tucked herself against his chest, one arm wrapping around his waist as he gathered her close, pressing a slow kiss to her forehead. Then another to her temple. One to the tip of her nose when she tilted her face upward.
She smiled despite herself.
“That wasn’t a proper one.”
Lando’s eyebrows lifted.
“Oh, sorry.”
He leaned in and kissed her softly.
Nothing hurried.
Nothing expected.
Just warmth and familiarity and the quiet reassurance of being wanted without having to perform anything at all.
When he pulled back, Louise stayed close, her forehead resting against his.
“Better?”
She nodded.
“Much.”
“Good.”
He kissed her once more, softer this time.
“Then that’s all we’re doing tonight.”
