Fun fact!! So actually this isn’t a plant at all, but a variety of predatory diatom that mimics its prey in order to get close enough to strike. Its digestive juices are very slow acting, so you aren‘t likely to notice your other plants disappearing until it’s too late to do anything about it. Unfortunately there is no way to kill it off, so you’ll have to find a different house.

Im interested in sargassum rn and i find it so extremely weird that anywhere i search it its about the “heartbreak” tourists feel when they travel to a sargassum filled destination instead of focusing on the damage to local communities. Also in general: I want to learn more about sargassum without it always focusing on the negatives and on tourists. Can someone give me a cool sargassum/any algae fact? Really into algae rn.
