Where I am currently, there's three mango trees outside. Ive been fiending for fruit to a stupid degree, which is one of the reasons why I think its good to stay here. I try my best to be nice, and having applied for fifty jobs in less than week is something I take a bit of pride in. My one saving grace is having an obscene amount of food stamps, but I'd rather die than see good floor mangos go to waste. Fruit's still expensive, and the government doesn't pay out when you're employed.
This has since been interpreted as me having absolutely no choice but to eat the floor mangos, when it sincerely isn't that severe. I don't eat floor mangos because I'm a Victorian child dying of scarlet fever after my parents got kicked out of the work house, I eat floor mangos because growing up poor keeps me from spending money on food. I started eating so much fruit because I had it available (because for some reason people don't eat a lot of it) and you can't buy candy bars in florida with food stamps any more.
This has had the amazing consequence, though, of my deeply proletarian neighbors taking pity on such a soul as me, and giving me free food in turn. I try to keep my meals between 40 cents to two dollars each, which is how I saved my food stamps (I don't really eat meat any more because it's expensive,) but it's so odd for people to be generous to me anyway. I'm glad I'm around decent people at least, especially when the closest grocery store is about a mile and a half one way and I walk out of necessity.
Nobody listens to me when I tell them I'll be okay, or I don't need it, or that I'll be okay, and it's really nice having the more positive aspects of socialization from total strangers. The sort of kindness I've seen from people I haven't even met is one of the reasons why I prefer the working class to elites. I never get treated this well from people who have a lot of give. This is what a traditional commune is meant for.
Plus, they're absolutely getting first pick when I have meats to braise or soup to make. I love them to death. It doesn't have to be doom and gloom 24/7. You don't have to understand for there to be good people in the world. It's always there.

Plainly, extreme weather events are now prevalent, escalating, and difficult to predict. In the USA, there seems to be good reason to expect unreliable professional response to the inevitable devastation, particularly during the next Republican administration. Currently, the working class cannot even count on having liberty to leave work during a multiple-tornado storm. As a citizen of the world, i would like to call for a multi-movement, cross-platform push for the formation of mutual aid disaster relief groups. Community Defense groups, workers' councils, artists, authors, influencers and affinity groups ought to promote and disseminate information pertaining to the formation of mutual aid networks for survival during extreme weather events. Time is of the essence.
