#program change

I think he learnt a lot during this exploration circle and now is back to his monster mode 😁 I believe he used this two seasons to truly grasp what "skating for himself" means in his understanding - which is skating programs of his own with the intention to win SPECTACULARLY.

If you’ve already passed these courses, then I don’t see any reason why you should repeat them (that’s my personal opinion). If you feel like you can do better, then yes you can repeat the courses. It’s really up to you as to what you want to do. Having said that, I would also add that if you got a D+ in ECON 1000/1010 then is switching to Economics really something you want to do? I think you should first evaluate why you did poorly in those courses.

A faculty change is made alongside a degree/major change. In order to assess a program change they will look at all the courses you’ve taken thus far.

You can try petitioning, but you will need a valid reason. Also, I’m not sure how the completion of the forms will be coordinated as the prof needs to fill one out for their respective course, and everything is being done remotely right now. The question is, are petitions still even being processed or are they on hold..?

You can apply for a program change request here: https://myacademicrecord.students.yorku.ca/program-change If you submit your request by/before March 1st, your degree and program change should go through by June 1st.

Well, applying for the program change would depend on when you decide to come back and pursue your degree. You should also check the timelines/deadlines you have to meet on the program change website to determine when to apply for the program change. There may be other requirements based on the major (again, please check the program change website to make sure).

Hi anon,

I don’t think it’s that difficult as long as you meet the Honours GPA requirement. If you apply on Jan 1 (since you’re doing a degree and major change) your program change request should go through by June 1.

Take a look at the academic calendar here: https://calendars.students.yorku.ca/2019-2020/programs/kinesiology-and-health-science which can provide you with some course options. Some that I can recommend for the Winter term that don’t require prereqs are: KINE 2011, KINE 2031, KINE 2049.
