Also, how would you have liked Kylo Ren to die?
there are so many good ways to kill kylo ren!!! here is a quick list:
Rey kills him in Snokeās throne room. (The Supreme Leader dies with the Skywalker lightsaber burning an arc through his soft, wet lungs, and he thanks her for it. He does. He collapses against Reyās unbowed shoulders, a measure which drives the lightsaber deeper towards his spine. Tremblingly, his hand comes up to cradle her cheek, and wheezes, Oh, girl. Thank you.Ā Then he keels over onto the durasteel, and goes still.)
Luke kills him on Crait. (Ben, Luke says, and the man called Kylo Ren chokes, blood on his mouth. Ben, Luke says again, and the man shakes his head.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā No, Uncle, he chokes out as his blood wets Craitās salt. No. No, you killed him, remember?Ā And then he is dead. Luke sobs, before he can stop himself.)
The new Supreme Leader returns to Arkanis, seat of the First Orderās power, in pomp and circumstance. It does not keep them from killing him quietly in his bed that night, because this new Supreme Leader is so much more vulnerable than the last. (They get him drunk and put him to bed and he never rises up; it turns out the First Order is crueler and more unflinching than Lord Kylo Ren ever was.)
After three months, Kylo Ren defects to the Resistance, because never before has anyone been less suited to the role he finds himself ināafter the third assassination attempt (Hux, curling his lip and saying, sloppy, but nothing more) he decides thatās it. Heās done.
The First Order blasts him out of the sky.
The Resistance blasts him out of the sky.
The Resistance marches him to a cell where he isnāt guarded sufficiently, and a small number of their soldiers come in the night and put down the Lord Kylo Ren like a rabid dog. (General Organa weeps only in private.)
The Resistance carefully follows every procedure and protocol, and it is not enough to save him. He shuts his eyes when they cock their blasters, and only Rey holds her eyes open throughout all the bloodless execution of the once-lordly Kylo Ren.
The Resistance declares him guilty, but saddles him with a lifetime sentence, to be served in exile at the very edge of the Unknown Regions. He dies, old and alone, on the edge of the galaxy. (Yes, further even than Luke.) Afterwards, Rey comes to collect his things because she is the only one who dares. After touching them, one by oneāletters unsent, sketches of her face, memoirs about being Leia Organaās son, a hundred scraps of Sith lore, she sets the whole homestead on fire and watches it burn, down to ash. A kind of second death, but kinder.
He dies atāthat planet. You know the one. Not even the Force can save a being from all eventualities. Sometimes, he just dies.
Rey kills him on the remains of the Death Star. It takes the power of Leia and Rey combined to distract him, for the lightsaber to go plunging through his soft middle and then, there amid the salt-spray, Kylo Ren dies. Rey cradles him with her hands as he quietly passes from the world, looking up at her with dark, wet eyes as though he does not understand how, how she could let him. (Stupid boy, she thinks, dashing hot tears from her eyes. She has known since she was small and standing amid the killing dunes how easy it was to die.)
The sea kills him. He learned to swim from his mother, who knew only the sweet seas of Alderaan; she was not ready for the tides on the moons of Endor, warped by so much of the Force. He drowns, and when his body washes up on shore later, only scavenger birds mark it.
The Knights of Ren kill him, not even in Palpatineās throne room. It makes sense in a perverse wayāhe killed their brothers and sisters on Endor, dragged them with him to the darkest end of the galaxy, and then gave them over to Snoke that he might train them to be monsters. He cannot begrudge them their revenge. It is Idriina who kills him, and as his vision fades he murmurs, yes, and well done. (Afterwards, they burn his body on a pyre, as befits Darth Vaderās heir. None of them weep.)
Palpatine kills him in the throne room, without even the benefit of forethought or fanfare. He is tossed away like a rag-doll and his spine snaps on the rock, and then he dies. The end.
He dies long before any of it. Not even this can save the galaxy.
