Definitely showing my age a bit by making this...

What made me make this thing (which I think might be sillier than the Long-Haired Carter drawing) was how I kept thinking about Merton whenever I saw Ian. They're both smart goths that have certain...quirks that keep me from really liking them. Of course, you can't draw Merton without Tommy, which led to this comic.

Would those two get along in the long run? Eh...something tells me one's going to piss off the other at some point. Kevin and Tommy may become friends, though. Just wait until Kevin hears about that one time Tommy cheated Death...

Like .. it’s a NOTICEABLE silence (or just a different reaction from how they normally are) to the point where their closest friends (heartslabyul for trey and octavinelle for jade) don’t mention each other around them.

BUT BUT BUT!!! when they are actually physically around each other they act normal and like they weren’t ever together to begin with. So they both convince themselves that the other didn’t care about it as much as they did. So they pretend it’s all great and dandy but their closest friends (jade with floazu, and trey with cater) know it’s not 😭 and they know that they are still totally hung up over each other STILL

IT COULD GO EVEN WORST IF LIKE… TREY GOT A GF OR SOMETHING IN THE MEANTIME (or worse… if you wanna make it a canon character … 🥺) oohhhh or they both get different partners come the time…

AND SKIP FOWARD!!! They’re like in a group hangout (it’s like post-NRC at this point) and drinks are involve.

And this is where it can become even more teengurl movie esk and have it be a cheating scandal. Like treyjade get drunk and they hook up (while being with other people)

which i know doesn’t float everyone’s boat 🤔 frankly fiction is fiction and a cheating treyjade story isn’t gonna convince someone to cheat LMAO

Or for the more delicate hearted people— they broke up with their partners before hand (different times and all that) and the still hook up but as single pringle’s 🥹

or if it’s trey fucking it up (if it’s the cheating scenario) and making it more slow burn. It could be like a … THE NOTEBOOK moment!! when the lady was like, “i have a husband waiting for me back home and he’s gonna be crushed when he found out what i’ve done!” but with trey just going back to be “loyal” (aka not wanting to face the consequences of his actions and being conflict avoidant…)

EITHER WAY THEY JUST CONTINUE THIS CAT AND MOUSE SOME MORE (or they confess the morning after their hook up and all of happily ever after)

I really like the underlying connotation here. For one thing, it means that the hero knew where the villain lived for some time, yet never used this knowledge to try and arrest the villain. For another thing, it implies a deep kind of trust or understanding, because who would deliver themselves to someone they didn't trust in such a weakened and vulnerable state? And for another thing, it further implies that the hero's usual contacts have either betrayed him, are compromised, or missing in action. Which also means there is even more trust towards the villain, because the hero cleary expects that the vilain will help him.
