Happy Pride Month, y’all 💖🍭

If it wasn’t obvious, I am in love with my wife. The AoEx Art Club’s event this month is centered around Pride! Yay!!! I’ll be contributing three pieces this month.

I thought I’d start out strong with my beloved, Pretty Soldier Sammy - Sailor Chronos! ⏳ The prompt I took was Magical Prism, and the instructions were simple: give us color. Thankfully I excel at color (thank you Lisa Frank obsession). I grew up watching a lot of magical girl anime, mostly Sailor Moon and Cardcaptor Sakura (my favorite). So, of course, I had to draw Sammy as a pretty sailor scout. And of course my heart was fluttering like crazy. She’s so pretty! Ahhhh!

Anyway, just so it’s clear here, my blog here is a safe space for all LGBTQIA+ peeps. I’m omnisexual myself, so despite how ugly the world may seem, you can always choose to pick up a crayon and color your world to fight fascism! Love you all. Walk softly so others may tread on lush grass. Expressing yourself is punk and protest, so be proud of who you are. And never forget those who fought for our right to exist today.

Yes, its good to let others know what you feel like, and no, im not saying to hide yourself

I mean, if you learned that you were smart, would you go telling everyone 'hey guys, guess what, Im smart!'

I personally wouldn't. Its a trait. So what if Im smart, that's just more about myself. Ill openly talk about it in conversations, and I might make small remarks about it, but im not gonna be like 'Hey mom, im smart'

Of course, its different if you learn you go by different pronouns, because you need to tell them so they dont call you the wrong thing

But I just want a world where we dont have to 'come out', where being queer and nonhuman, and anything like that isnt odd, or hated. Where it'll just be a trait, and not a huge deal or a fight.
