        lexa just...observes for several silent moments as the stone hits the water with a loud kerplunk! the noise stretches all the way to the trees on either side of the lake, and at the rate she’s going, malee is going to scare away all the wildlife in the surrounding area. “ yeah, you tell that piece of shit who’s boss. ” lexa winds up for another throw, though it’s not quite as good as some of her first, only bouncing three times before sinking.

red  sure  doesn’t  need  eagle  vision  to  know  there’s  something  going  on  between  malee  and  ace,  so  when  the  vampire  confessess  her  feelings  red  is  more  happy  than  surprised,  the  idea  of  the  two  together  not  seeming  so  far  fetched  considering  who  red  is  dating  these  days.    “  i’m  glead  to  hear  to  that.  ”    she  remarks,  tone  genuinely  sincere  and  delighted  as  she  pours  more  chocolate  milk  in  malee’s  mug.    “  you  guys  deserve  it,  really.  ”    heaven  knows  how  hard  life  is  for  people  like  them  ---  people  doomed  to  roam  earth  for  such  long  time.  still  she  can’t  deny  that  something  strikes  in  heart  as  she  speaks,  the  knowledge  that  unlike  malee  and  ace,  she’ll  have  to  bare  once  again  a  life  without  her  lover  eventually.  thought  is  pushed  aside  as  she  sips  on  her  tea,  small  grin  offered  to  malee  before  she  speaks  again.    “  i  take  it  you  were  with  them  last  weekend  when  you  declined  our  invite  to  dinner?  ”    no  offence  of  course,  red  would  have  done  the  same.  

[ malee ] :  EXCUSE ME?? [ malee ] :  what do you mean the pasta was on fire? [ malee ] :  did you put the fire down? is everybody okay? [ malee ] :  and why are you cooking in my house anyway??

“  i  bet  their  music  would  be  out  of  this  world.  ”

gaze  darts  on  malee  under  the  form  of  an  annoyed  eye  roll,  her  hands  busy  fidgeting  with  wires  to  charge  their  equipment.  “  i  don’t  know  what  are  you  talking  about,  there’s  no  child,  just  the  three  of  us.  ”  she  deadpans,  and  her  brows  knit  in  thought  as  soon  as  words  leave  her  lips.  “  wait  ---  are  you  talking  about  max?  because  he’s  tall,  a  child,  and  definitely  looks  terrible.  ”

‘    𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐥𝐥 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐝𝐨     ’    the purism, or whatever hateful notion that had been birthed centuries before she’d ever even been through of, was outdated. it was not the reason she assumed all of them would fall victim to bloodlust, nor was she in any position to judge behind it. after all, her hands hadn’t been clean since she was sixteen. a snort pulled forth from chest before adding. ‘  no offense, it’s more about what you are, rather than who.  ’
