I literally just read a text on tumblr about pretty notes and the reasons about why it’s a waste of time because they have to be “perfect”. I looked into it and saw that it was true! A lot of people were saying they have to start over because of not making their notes “pretty”.
There are 3 things you need to know before tackling pretty notes.
1) Notes aren’t going to be perfect. I personally like notes that are colorful and nice handwriting.
2) You get better with time. Don’t get frustrated. Take a breath.
3) This is what I personally do. What I have observed. You can use these but if you find something that isn’t working, CHANGE IT!! It’s okay!
• Use 2-4 colors. Using to many make it too confusing. Change the color after one loooong paragraph. Or use it emphasize important words. There is only one time where I used about 5-6 colors because it was a graph with lots of different parts. I used the colors to correspond the part of the graph to the significance.
• During class, if something repeats, like a math problem, then use a color to indicate it’s a math problem. For example, if I have a series of problems, (2+2, 3+5, etc) I would use a color (blue) every time a new problem I have to solve came up.
• Use pencil. Then when you use black pens, it would stick out as an emphasizer that you can always use.
• Use the black pen. I always use the black pen. I love it.
• Use cute sticky notes! Help with information or to cover an answer. #practiceproblems
