The eyes are the window of the soul for human beings and perhaps even more so for our animal friends. It is up to us, as the more “evolved” species to be able to hear past their wordless pleas. The best way to do this is to look directly into their eyes and understand that they, like us, would choose to live if we would only allow them that right. We don’t know of anyone who can partake of any kind of meat without a willful, deliberate decision to NOT think about where that meat came from.
