DUMAGUETE, NEGROS ORIENTAL -- The Pulantubig Persons with Disability Association (PPDA) celebrated its 1st anniversary with a modest, full-hour seminar held at the multi-purpose function room within the Pulantubig covered court Saturday afternoon (September 20th, 2025 -- Dumaguete local time), per the rescheduled date from late-August of that year. Newly-elected PPDA officers, members and regional representatives of the key government agencies such as the Provincial Government of Negros Oriental, the Provincial Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO), and the City Social Welfare and Development Office-Negros Oriental (CSWDO).

The seminar featured several notable attendees and speakers. Internet public media and broadcasting founder of 'ONC Holdings' and the new PWD barangay president 'Rhayniel Saldasal Calimpong', along with PWD barangay vice-president 'Ella E. Maro', public relations officer 'Flordelona Pontillas', barangay captain of Pulantubig 'Ramil Q. Cornelia', guest speaker & nutritionist 'Justine Kim P. Villanueva', local PWD officers 'Connie Gregore' & 'Lilani Mae Tabada', and closing off with an auditor 'Maria Liza Barriga'.

Initially as we broke the story to OneNETnews, a suspected caterer was in relation to August 29th, 2025 who was failing to prepare the food, but the arrangement fell through. As a result, barangay officials and PPDA officers had to secure a new caterer today. The previously contracted catering provider was yet reported in custody of the Dumaguete City Police Station (DCPS) for reasons that remain unclear.

The seminar, which was exclusive to PPDA members, focused on proper nutrition and disease prevention strategies. The programme was successful, and people had an early dinner and snacks after the event.

The celebration was not only a year of community and work in favor of the PPDA but offered the required insights to the members of the association which solely focuses on their well-being and empowerment.
