#post-bacc

I got into the Post-Baccalaureate for Classical Studies (Languages) at the University of Pennsylvania! Now, if you’re wondering why I would do this if I already have a Master’s? It’s because I focused on Civilization/Culture vs. the Languages, but the Post-Bacc will let me catch up on the languages I’m not all the way caught up on. I’ve been taking the Greek course with the Belfast Classics group (https://helenmcveigh.co.uk/courses/). I’m in the lower intermediate level now (I started at Beginners to fully refresh my brain), and I plan on continuing with them through the summer.

AHHHH, I haven’t updated Q’s blog in almost a week. This semester is so busy! I’ve barely had time to do the things I needed to do, much less struggle with the elephantine task of getting just one usable photo of my grumpy ball of quills. D:

At least today is my last busy day before reading break. I have a physio exam in an hour and my usual anatomy teaching lab, and then tomorrow’s just a chill day of classes and volunteering. And! And! This time my break is a full week, so I actually have 9 days counting the weekends... which of course I’ll spend catching up / studying biochem. 

Ahhhh, I am so busy this semester!! I have fairly regular 12 hour days when a full-time school load with work and 2 volunteering gigs are all put together. This is my last semester of pre-reqs though! That means I get to finally get a job and study for the MCAT with no extraneous school crap to deal with. :D

Some updates:

+ The pre-reqs for my top choice were removed a few days ago though, which is something I’m struggling with. Is it good? It it bad? I’m already in a bind, being a non-traditional mature student originally from a psych / counselling background. Plus my grades have been fucked up and down by this university. I’m definitely getting As (except in last semester’s biochem) but I have to fight against all this extra shit (like rigging exams to fail, power-tripping profs, all that good stuff). Not cool. And I feel like my pre-reqs being removed from significance doesn’t really help, but I don’t even know what to expect anymore. I’m just going to keep my head up and continue on my laid out plan for the next year or two like nothing’s changed.
