So you probably thought I fell off the face of the planet. 😉 I definitely fell off the 100% healthy eating wagon for a while, but with good reason (as you can see from this picture)! 20 months after my VSG, two months after being cleared by my surgeon to try, my husband and I got pregnant with this little nugget. He’s the love of my life. I had a very smooth pregnancy, no real difficulties, except that this little guy wouldn’t let me eat solid protein! You can imagine how hard that was for me. I had bad morning sickness for a while, but even once that was gone, I still couldn’t eat solid chicken, beef, pork, etc. I subsisted on dairy, protein shakes, and seafood like fish and shrimp. It was worth it all, though! I had to eat more carbs, had lots of cravings for peanut butter and occasional sweet cravings, and ended up gaining some weight (duh), but baby was exactly in the 50th percentile for growth (so he’s perfect) which was the most important thing, AND three weeks post-partum I’ve lost all but 14 pounds of the weight I gained during pregnancy without doing anything special at all. So, truly not bad. And look at what I have to show for all my hard work. 😍 My husband and I are tired, but SO in love! This little guy makes it ALL worth it!
