Holy hell I knew there was a reason why that panel in the AssClass manga reminded me of something... If AssClass met FMA, Koro-sensei would definitely be Izumi Curtis.
This is most probably old news, but I just remembered the āThe Cranberriesā song āJust My Imaginationā. SPN uses songs or lyrics quite heavily in the episode titles, so this could be one of those cases, but I hadnāt made the connection, because the topic of the episode āimaginary friends are realā covered enough for me in terms of the episode questioning if Godās visions are also solely a product of Samās imagination or if they are the real deal - like the imaginray friend apparently.
That being said. I just decided to give it a listen again and watch the accompanying video (watch it here) and what I saw there made me squee a bit, because while I treat this as accidental, I think itās VERY cool that the video starts with a close up of a butterfly and later on more butterflies - which brings me back to my āmothā-metas from the beginning of the season.
Anyway, so they're the first nice - possibly accidental - shout out and reference, but itās actually the lyrics that seemed to be very fitting.
