#poor thangs

I’m considering doing the unthinkable and opening up art requests….. both through strawpage (for the Twitter followers) AND tumblr as a celebration for hitting 750 follows on Twitter and 685 on here…. I’m still working out my schedule with school since my work has amped up A LOT since I’ve started college but I wanna do something for hitting these milestones and tbh I just wanna draw more anyways too LMFAO

so! I am doing a poll, these are for POTENTIAL requests that I’ll be taking since I’m also curious to see what kind of fandom y’all want to see from me more,,, requests for the time being are STILL CLOSED but will likely open when I’m able to actually dedicate some time to them LMFAO (THERE WILL BE AN ANNOUNCEMENT ON BOTH TWITTER AND HERE) this is moreso just me being curious about what you guys are here for art related wise. I’ll also probably still take in requests for other fandoms that aren’t related to the winning one!

Annnnd for a small announcment that I swear is relevant, I’m going to be doing a complete clearing of my askbox to make my life a little easier. I’m sorry about all the requests/comments/stuff I wasn’t able to answer but I do want you all to know I greatly appreciate everything that was sent to me and I saw it ALL! I just get a little stressed with having to answer so much ask related stuff but I can assure you all of the little comments, compliments, and just general racket (/silly) yall have sent me brings a huge smile to my face every time i go through it. I’m just ready for a clear :3! Thank yall so much and it really does mean a lot!!!!!

I just crammed mole reaserch so let’s all learn about moles, sit down everyone class begins now.

There are two types of “moles” in the world—true moles, or talpidae, and burrowing mammals that have incredibly similar physical characteristics to true moles (due to convergent evolution) but are not actually related to them. We’ll talk about these guys later.

Talpidae, true moles, are small insectivores that live most of their lives underground. They have poor eyesight but have a very strong sense of touch and hearing so that they can detect and manœuvre in their environment. Their hands are big and round with an extra thumb for optimal digging and are incredibly sensitive to touch.

These little guys are also very sensitive to sunlight despite having small eyes and poor vision, so they have a pretty extreme stress response to being above ground for too long. Once their heads are back underground , they calm down and start digging. They are very fast diggers.

Moles are very solitary and shy creatures. They tend to avoid eachother even if their territories overlap.

Other burrowing mammals that are very similar to moles but are not in the same classification are golden moles and marsupial moles. They can be distinguished by their shovel like noses—as opposed to the trunk-like nose of a true mole—and longer, slimmer paws.
