Anjou generally finds compassion, passion, and competency irresistible. As far as physical qualities, being taller than her is really up there (pun intended). She could listen to someone talk about their passion all day and she would just be more than a little dreamy eyed about it. Seeing someone who makes the time to show compassion to others - and not just animals - is a real draw for her. They show the ability to think outside themselves but also really appreciate things, and for her that is really attractive.

Competency is also something that will draw her in because it ties in with a lot. Generally something someone is passionate about they are competent, or at the very least taking steps to get there. Which furthers their passion and really draws her in.

As for being tall, she will shamelessly admit that it is a real knee-wobbler for her. For the simple fact that it means either they can reach a thing she can't or they can help her! And they don't have to be much taller. Half a head or so is enough to make her consider offering a bit of her attention.

Past that, there are small details that she'd get lost in what makes someone irresistible. Those are just the more consistent ones if that makes sense.

- The Thorndales are a noble Redanian family living in Oxenfurt (I just really love Oxenfurt, it’s my favourite city in W3). Thomas originally comes from Redania’s capital Tretogor, but moved to Oxenfurt to invest and support the famous university located there and this is where he met Gillian’s mother. He highly believes in the power of knowledge and wants to see it thrive.

- The Page family is part of the Nilfgaardian Empire and heavily invested in their conquests. Robert’s father is a highly decorated veteran and his older brother arespected commander in the Imperia Brigade, while the young man himself is more interested in the empire’s economy and expanding his own wealth.

- Gillian shows great interest in the history of the Aen Seidhe and Aen Elle and studies their language to get a piece of their knowledge. However, she also does this to understand the world better - the past, how humanity managed to take over, social dynamics - so she can see and recognize those patterns in order to protect herself. And probably to use them for her gain (we are still speaking of Gillian here, someone who is always thirsty for knowledge in order to use it for quest for power). 

- This is also why she opposes  the hunting and killing of witches, seeing it as yet another proof of humanity’s immaturity and inability to handle things they are not able to comprehend. In secret, she supports the smuggling of witches but not necessarily out of kindness, Gillian just wants their knowledge to be preserved. 

Gillian: While living close to the City of London, Gillian has the habit of oscillating very often - even though she is a person who prefers to be alone, she isn’t tied to one specific place. While a lot of CEOs turn their working place into the place where they also live, building expensive and massive penthouses on top of their capitalistic towers, Thorndale demands a clear cut between business and private life. 

However, there are two places that have a special meaning to her that are not hers or Robert’s place. First, there always will be her family manor in Wrexham, the place she grew up in and has fond memories of. It’s a vast place and even though she turned some part of it into a public resort after her father’s death (like the stables), it remains her main sanctuary whenever she needs to catch a breath and get some distance from everything. Some might say she is sentimental. 

The other is a house in the woods of Finland’s Lapland, a place she had acquired for her husband and only a chose few know about. It’s not a bunker or any of that sort, but a place of complete isolation and retreat when even the manor is not enough to keep a clear head. 

Before its completion and it’s grand opening to the public, Thorndale would take trips to Heaven whenever she could.

Robert: Originally from Palo Alto, he moved to Hong Kong in 2021.  The Republic of China is not only the first successful attempt of the Illuminati to shape an entire society, it’s also a fantastic location for corporations. He felt like moving to HK would be beneficial for him personally due to personal power, but also a smart move from a financial standpoint. However, he spends most of his time in his office overlooking Victoria Harbour and would also sleep there if he doesn’t have enough energy to work through the night. 

He also kept his penthouse in San Francisco as he frequently visits the city - it obviously gets destroyed during the 2030 Earthquake but he doesn’t have any strong feelings about it. Unlike Gillian who has a strong connection to certain places, he never felt drawn to any specific place. In a way, he is a nomad who never truly settles even when spending years of his life in the same walls. The moment another place becomes more lucrative he would move.

What kind of books/authors/genre’s do you like reading?

Gillian and Robert both turned their heads to each other, arms crossed as their smiles became wider and wider.

“I think that one is easy for us, isn’t it?”, the white haired woman inquired in a sweet tone.

“Judging by your impressive private collection and that yet I always see you reading the same three books…”

“This is called having favourites, Robert.” She bumped into his waist with her own. He chuckled before returning to the interviewer. 

“I simply prefer to have the satisfaction of discovering new thoughts and worlds, and the fascinating universe of literature is exactly what appeases that hunger I have. Furthermore, I used to work in a bookstore before I became this charming CEO I am now. This is where I found my love for the brilliant mind of Thomas Aquinas, someone you should check out his work yourself if you find the time.

Whenever it was quiet in the store and there was not much to do, the owner allowed me to sit down and take a book from the shelves and read it - to me it wasn’t only a pleasant place to work at, but it was technically a library I was paid at. I can’t even pinpoint how many books I have finished in the three years I worked there, but just like today, the scientific, philosophical and science fiction sections where the places to find me if you needed me. While history, the memories of the biggest minds that wandered this Earth offer us a window to the past, they are also timeless as those people where able to make observations of the very essence of humanity and its home and write them down.

Besides the classics like Asimov, Clarke, Gibson  - the ones you simply cannot avoid - I found a lot of hidden gems, especially from Asia. It was fascinating to me to see how different cultures approach and view the future. Cixin Liu  pleased me the most.

Today, I only find the time to read before I go to bed or while on the road, and then, my habits haven’t changed that much.” 

“And sometimes we read together, don’t we?”

“Until you fall asleep, yes.”

“It’s calming. Anyway, it’s my time to answert the same question, pardon me for keeping you waiting. It’s easy to assume that “The Time Wanderers” by the Strugatsky  Brothers is my all time favourite, considering the countless times I have read it in my life. I highly recommend the entire Noon Universe. Another classic that has burned itself into my mind is “Oryx and Crake” by Atwood,the world and the way mankind are portrayed there left me thinking for a very long time. 

In general, my interest overlap with Robert’s, although I prefer the very hard science fiction niche, literature that is mostly about very abstract visions of the future.” 

Gillian narrowed her eyes, as the expression on her face turned more melancholic.
