Dex is not dressed for either movie, he's in flannels as usual. He's only there because there's talk of jello shots being passed around in the theatre once the lights go down. (And because it's Nursey's turn to buy popcorn.)

Chowder is dressed in a white shirt and grey pants with a fedora, and he has a hot pink tie and pocket square.

In college, he starts to get feelings for the frogs and Farmer. A series of very serious conversations with Shitty about sexuality later, and he's at least on his way to accepting himself. Polyfarmer ends up getting together Dex's junior year.

Graduation follows polyfarmer to California, where Chowder goes to the Sharks, Nursey and Caitlin go to Stanford for grad school, and Dex signs with the aces. He ends up with two secondary partners (polyfarmer are primary) in Kent and Swoops.

A year later, Whiskey also gets drafted by the aces. There's a bit of drama there, because Whiskey doesn't want to relieve any of the drama of college and avoids Dex at first. They get over it eventually though, and become friends, then eventually they get together.

At some point, the SMH guys have a reunion, and Dex is left to ponder his crush on Bitty back from when he was deeply in denial about his own bisexuality. With the permission of his partners, he talks to Bitty about it, not knowing where it might lead. They end up in a friends with benefits sort of relationship.

At first, they both kind of hate Farmer, because she's taking Chowder away from them (and if that isn’t something they should probably examine. They don't). But, really, everything about her is amazing, and she makes Chowder happy, so they can't dislike her for long. The closer friends they become with her, though, the more jealous they get. "Must be because we're seeing more and more how perfect she and Chowder are", Dex says one day, and Nursey agrees, because it's a safe assumption. (It totally has nothing to do with her smile, or her laugh, or her gentle chirping. And definitely not the way she looks when she scores with a game-winning jump serve, all long legs, flexing muscles, and confidence.) 

But then Jack and Bitty tell everyone they’re dating. And Nursey and Dex are both so happy for them, they are. Their relationship is clearly wonderful! But, if they're relationship is so wonderful, why aren't they jealous of them like they are of Chowder and Farmer?

Cue a Very Serious conversation about what the hell is going on with their feelings. And Dex starts nervously rambling, and Nursey doesn't know how to calm him down, so he kisses him. And suddenly it clicks. Nursey really likes kissing Dex. And maybe, he really wants to try kissing Chowder and Farmer too. (After a couple of days of introspection, Dex realizes he agrees).

This realization does not, of course, actually help matters. Instead, it somehow manages to make them worse. Dex and Nursey start dating officially, but decide not to tell anyone yet. So they end up getting really awkward when they’re together in public, since they have to act like they're not dating. It’s even worse when they're around Farmer or Chowder, because they both have to pretend they’re not dating each other, and that they don’t have stupid crushes on their goalie and his girlfriend. (This, Nursey figures, is why it’s a good idea not to tell anyone. A double date? Psychic damage x100.)

Cue Chowder cornering them, trying to figure out what their problem is, because "You guys have been getting along so well! If you go back to hating each other, I don't think I could stand it!" Nursey and Dex share a long, panicked look, and then Dex blurts out "I swear we don’t hate each other! Actually, we're dating each other and maybe kinda want to date you and Farmer too, but she should probably be here for that conversation, and oh no I can't believe I just said that." And all three of them are blushing furiously, but Chowder is slightly more attuned to his emotions than the other two, so he has the brains to take out his phone and text Farmer to please meet them for coffee and a serious conversation at Annie’s.

- Farmer brings her boys energy drinks after practice, and before games. It becomes a sort of pregame ritual, and whenever she can't come to their games, she drops them off at the Haus the night before. (Before Chowder's first game with the Sharks, Farmer, Nursey and Dex all meet him in the locker room to drink energy drinks together.)

- Similarly, they all go out to eat before Farmer's games. If the boys are out of town on a roadie, they'll order door dash for her and eat together over skype.

- Playing sports means none of them have really had any time to actually explore around Samwell. On any weekends when they don't have games or big tests the next week, they go on dates to all the dumb tourist traps in the area. They take goofy pictures at each place they go, and have a scrapbook of their dates.

- Sleeping in the same bed with four people is hard, but it's even harder in the student twins. So, it's not uncommon to see the four of them sprawled out on a pile of blankets in the Haus living room.

- For Christmas one year, Farmer, Dex and Nursey get Chowder a shark plushie to cuddle with when he's at home and can't be with one of them. He thinks this is a great idea, and decides all four of them need plushies. Nursey gets a frog, Dex gets a lobster, and Farmer gets a pig (as a throwback to the fateful piggy back race).

- When one of them has a big test or otherwise needs to study a lot, Dex cooks them their favorite meal/snack and brings it to them as a reminder to eat. The others can't really cook, but when Dex is the one in Super Study Mode, whichever one of them isn't will go to the store and load up on all his favorite snacks.
