3D Practice: #7
Prop practice for a 3D art challenge kind of thing.
It's held on Polycount every two months for prop and environment art. Two concepts for props and two concepts for environment art, with links to all their respective pages and artists. Idea is to pick and finish a thing in the time frame.
I went with a sci-fi art deco radiator or air vent thing - in part because it looked interesting and in part because no one else tried to make it. When I was doing my initial research and saw the whole series of concepts, they seemed like a line of products sharing similar parts. So I decided to make this as either a modular prop set or a trimsheet. I went with the former.
I am not done. I wanted this done in 3-4 weeks so I could finish it for the end of the challenge - which ended in April. I reworked the main parts like two maybe three times and yeah this was not smart. I usually learn new things in baby steps, so I avoid this kind of thing. Also procrastination has been real, real, real bad.
Modeling almost done, going to be fast and messy with UVs and texturing. I wanna see if I can finish this within the next two weeks.
