My portion of my polycule is a V. Now, as is true with many polycules, the shape of our polycule blooms around different points and people. We all have different poly-saturation points, risk tolerances, and definitions of what makes a partner.

But for me, I'm in a V. I have my wife and my boyfriend. While I live with both of them, they do not live together. I keep two homes. I'm pretty poly-saturated at two partners so I'm not looking at seeing anyone new. I appreciate that the three of us work together to care for each other, as one does in a family. After all, this is my family.

By splitting my time between my wife and my boyfriend, both of them have time to do their own thing. While scheduling our lives requires communication and coordination, that isn't much different from anyone else in today's world where we have to be intentional with our time and who we spend it with.

Here I am finishing up seaming the Hue Shift I am making for a friend’s wedding present (by this point, anniversary present) and I find myself planning my next Hue Shift. Because this is addicting knitting.

Now here’s the rub. If I make one for Princess and I, I’ll need to make one for Pants and I. Doing otherwise would be like saying I love one more than the other. That means two, TWO more Hue Shifts. Since the Hue Shift is a year+ project, I’ll be knitting Hue Shifts well into my mid thirties.
