#poland protest

Seriously?

I know you Westerners are mostly ignorant morons, but this is just outrageous.

Here, in Poland, there’s been protests against a ruling of Constitutional Court (whose members were choses illegaly), making abortion generally illegal in my country. Not a small protest, no.

Big cities, small cities, celebrities, politicians, f*ck, almost the entire country is protesting against this - not caring about the COVID, not caring that our government officials made public gatherings illegal, not caring that the police can use force against the protesters.

And still, knowing this - and your damn media knows exactly what is going on - this is BBC’s headline?

No, the streets of my country ARE NOT empty. Belarusian streets are NOT empty.

Good to know that the West has turned it’s eyes from us once again.

technically, there were cops to protect us, but they didn’t do shit

people were throwing firecrackers at us, and calling us murderers for standing up for our rights, and guess what? not a single one of them got arrested or stopped from doing so

in some places in poland the police were not only not doing shit, they were even using pepper sprays to harm the protesters, just because they fucking felt like it

daily reminder - abortion is healthcare, and no old childless man with a cat can change that, even if he’s in the government

L'aborto è un diritto, la donna deve poter scegliere, nessun uomo può mettere le mani su una legge che riguarda il corpo di una donna. Il corpo è suo e a lei, solo a lei, spetta la decisione. Le voci delle donne devono essere ascoltate, non possiamo permettere che una donna rischi la propria vita per abortire: la sua vita va tutelata. Se siete contrari all'aborto nessuno vi obbliga a farlo, ma impedire ad un'altra donna di poter scegliere è violare un suo diritto.

Lasciate alle donne la libertà di scegliere.

Lasciate che l'aborto sia legale - anche in caso di malformazione del feto perché in quella circostanza state mettendo donna e bambino/a di fronte ad un futuro già segnato da sofferenza.

Informatevi, documentatevi, condividete la notizia, se potete - e volete - donate, non lasciate che le voci di queste donne restino disperse nel vento. Non siate indifferenti di fronte ad eventi simili, l'indifferenza è pericolosa tanto quanto l'ignoranza.
