I got my Pocket of Peers Tarot Deck by @jamiesawyer_336 ! I backed this on Kickstarter and I'm so thrilled! The art is gorgeous and features a lot of people I know and others that I want to know more about. I love this deck, every time I see someone I know it's like seeing a friend. This deck invites you to dive deep and study. The guidebook is so lovely. Not only does it include Jamie's thoughts on the cards, but it also includes thoughts from those that are featured on the cards. The guidebook even leaves blank pages for your own thoughts. I love the sunny yellow edges, the gorgeous cardstock, the amazing guidebook and the fact that even during a pandemic, Jamie Sawyer has brought so many people together. Thank you Jamie! This morning, I asked the cards “What do I need to learn about the journey I am on?” I drew the Teacher from the Pocket of Peers Tarot. ⭐ Lately, I feel as if I’ve been learning so much about myself. This past two years has guided me along on a new path, one of self discovery and learning. I’ve been having to delve into different parts of myself and relearn how to do things, how to look at things and how I react to them. I’ve been on a real spiritual journey and while the journey hasn’t always been easy, it’s helped me to once again realize what really matters in my life. ⭐ The tarot reader (Mary K. Greer) looks at me and she has laid out a Celtic Cross spread, telling me of what will come and what has happened. It lays out who I am so that I can see and physically touch parts of my journey and see them in front of me. This journey has made me who I am. My choices and my reactions have shaped me and the life that I have around me. The Teacher is all about tuning into the wisdom that I have gained and the knowledge of who I am. ⭐ Throughout the past two years, I’ve had to cast aside what I no longer needed, what I was holding on to and really let go of my bad habits and other people’s thoughts that formed my foundations. What I’ve been left with is the knowledge of who I am and what I can give to the world around me. This morning, I asked the cards “What will I create today?” I drew Death from The Pocket of Peers Tarot. ⭐ Letting go can be hard and change can be difficult, especially for me. I have a hard time with it because I like things just so or just as they are. However, I know that in order to grow, in order to experience spiritual expansion, there has to be change. I’ve always seen this card as an act of letting go, a shedding of the dark and letting the light shine in to the spots that it couldn’t before. ⭐ I’ve been going through so many changes lately and have been having a difficult time adjusting, but I know that I am on the right path forwards. It’s hard to let go of the weight that I’ve been carrying; it’s become so familiar and well known. The absence of all the weight is frightening, but I know that in order to grow my wings, I have to let it go and make room for the light that is shining ahead of me. This morning, I asked the cards “How can I let go?” I drew the 5 of Cups from the Pocket of Peers Tarot. 🍷 I had a dream last night. I was watching my past self. In the dream, I watched as I was berated by someone who supposed to love me. They tried to mold me into the shape that they wanted, the person they desired. When I woke, I realized I’ve been holding on to his anger this entire time, even all these years later. His is the voice I hear every time I’m angry with myself or am too hard on myself. 🍷 I have to let these emotions go. They’ve spilled over and the old me would have tried to hold onto them, tried to put them back in the cup, but I’ve realized that I need to let them go, that I don’t need to hold on to all of the negativity. I’m not the person I was before, and he hasn’t been in my life for close to ten years. I don’t need to hold on to them anymore. 🍷 Though they have stained the cloth upon which they have spilled, that’s okay. Emotions can be messy but it’s not my responsibility to claim them or clean them up. This morning, I asked the cards “How can I celebrate the small joys?” I drew the 8 of Swords, the Magician and the 7 of Wands from The Spacious Tarot. ⭐ I tend to let my thoughts go wild sometimes. They tend to lean towards the negative if I don’t control them and focus on the positive. Sometimes, it feels like I’m on an island or surrounded by walls and I’m unable to find my way off the island or over the wall. In order to focus on the small joys, I need to remind myself that I am not held captive. I can leave the mental island at any time. ⭐ I have so much power within me. I already have everything I need to succeed. I have a balanced mind, body, spirit and emotions and I don’t need to look anywhere but within me to find the balance I need. Sometimes, the mind makes me forget how capable and full of light I am. I can embrace the small joys by remembering I have the power within. ⭐ By reminding myself of all of this, I am victorious. I can overcome anything that is in front of me and will use my light to see more clearly. This morning, I asked the cards “What do I have to look forward to on this journey?” I drew the Teacher, the 5 of Wands and the 10 of Swords from The Pocket of Peers Tarot Deck. 🗡 I’ve been so focused on the negative things that may be coming my way that I’ve forgotten what it is that I have to look forward to. I need to focus on the positive things that my body has yet to teach me. When I look at these cards, I’m being asked to learn from others around me about how to see myself through this. I’ve always viewed leaning as one of life’s gifts. So, I need to learn what I can about myself as I move into this next stage of my life. 🗡 While learning isn’t easy and it comes with challenges, these challenges can be overcome. I have overcome so many challenges before and I will overcome the ones that have yet to come. It will be difficult, but it can be done. It may seem daunting and insurmountable, but there will be a way through the forest. There will be light through the trees and I have to look for that. 🗡 I also need to remember that this process will be healing in its way. It will be an ending and a new beginning for me as I take on these new health challenges. I will be able to change how I think about this mentally and complete a cycle of growth while beginning a new one. This morning, I asked the cards "How can I live beyond my limitations?" I drew the Ace of Pentacles from The Pocket of Peers Tarot. 🌟 When I look at this card, I see growth. I've been able to scale the mountains and I have thrived. However, this is a seed for me to plant, an opportunity that I have to take hold of in order to grow further. I am about to begin a new journey and the possibilities are endless. 🌟 I get so bogged down by what my body can and can't do and that changes daily. Though I've climbed these mountains before, they are never the same twice. I lose my focus in amidst a turbulent sea. This morning, I asked the cards "How will I grow today?" I drew the Queen of Pentacles from The Pocket of Peers Tarot. 💮 I'm drawn to look at all the elements of creation around the Queen, the sewing machine and the pins, reams of fabric and measuring tape. She is happiest when creating, when she gives into her craft. That is what grounds her. She is smiling brightly because she is at her happiest. 💮 I know that I connect to my nature and to spirit when I take a moment to breathe and meditate, however the connection is strongest when I am creating and making space in my mind and spirit when I am writing and painting.
