Updates, Videos, and Suggestions
Working on uploading the next set of videos now. I've spent the past couple of days really working on my sitting trot. I'm pretty good at walk canter transitions but on Pomp, his HUGE trot jounces me out of the saddle whenever I attempt Trot-canter transitions. I know I need to fix this or I'll never be able to even show Training Level. My timing must be off and I definitely have a significant deficit in core strength. Hopefully an increase in saddle time and sitting trot will help fix this. However, my trainer points out that I need to ensure that Pomp stays on the bit during all transitions. I feel like my problems with this are centered around a lack of relaxation and an abundance anticipation. Any ideas on exercises to relax both my horse and myself, as well as to increase the quality of movement within the gaits?

I want to thank everyone who weighed in on my last video! I also want to apologize for the delay in posts. Pomp's barn is about an hour and a half from my house. The three hour drive definitely cuts down on computer time! More horse-related posts to follow...
Input please! This is part one of a video from a few weeks ago when I was really struggling with MY position, and therefore was having alot of trouble giving Pomp the support he needs to do his job well. Any Opinions?

So I'm starting to document my journey with my amazing horse Pomp! His full name is Pluto Pompea- 55, and he's a Lipizzaner stallion. He definitely is very skilled, and I admit, I am not currently up to his standards. Hopefully though, Pomp and my amazing trainer will be able to coach me to the point where I wont embarrass my self in public.
Bring on all of your comments etc. and I'll post photos and videos when I can and I beg of you, please share any opinions you have regarding my position etc.

Pluto Pompea update!
I have new photos of Mr. Freckles :)
Half of them are on my phone and the other half are on my camera, so I'll probably post them soon. There aren't any of me riding yet, because I am seriously out of riding condition (college will do that to you). I have ridden him though, twice now since he's gotten here, and will most likely be going again tonight... Yay for more photos!!!!
And yes I called Pomp Mr. Freckles. He has freckles, alright? :)
Pluto Pompea update!
So Pomp and I got to go for our first ride in his new home on Thursday night :) He was a really brave boy and was also really well behaved, too, considering Lanca, the stallion whose gonna be with him at all the shows we go to hates him. We pretty much worked on me getting used to my saddle again and used to being on a horse again. And I swear , if a dog eats another part of my saddle (they got my stirrup leather and half of a billet strap) there will be hell to pay. I hate feeling like and unbalanced jockey...
I don't know when I'll get a chance to ride again, Sunday's ride got postponed when a friends horse had to be euthanized after a really bad colic. My prayers go out to Shilo.
Pluto Pompea update!
Pomp arrived at his new home last night at 1:30. Due to the late hour and the fact that I had an 8:30 class this morning... I was asleep in my dorm room when he got here. Today however, after I sit through my intro-level bio lab, I'll be heading out there to say "hi" to my handsome man, give him a good groomin' and get some pictures of him and his new house (it has a paddock attached to his stall!).
